A chair sits on a crumbling porch
It sways back and forth
Day and night
Its never ending creakingNo one sits in that chair
But someone use to
An old lady
Who lived in the old houseShe was kind and gentle
She told the best stories
Kids loved her
As they would a grandmotherBut she died suddenly
She died while rocking in the chair
She had a heart attack
Everyone cried that dayNow all that's left of her
Is her house and her chair
Both old
And the chair continues to sway.
