Chains*

Heavy rusty iron
Connected by loops
A continuous pattern
Loop after loop

The child sits
Watching the chains
On the fence
Sway in the breeze

A lock
One that you can't pick
Yet he tries everyday
Failing

Weights of pressure
On my shoulders
I'm held fast
By chains and weights

They make it hard
To move and breath
The heavy iron chains
And the weights

That's the feeling you get
During a depression attack
Heavy weights or pressure
Upon your chest and shoulders

Somehow the pressure
Effects your mood
You could be happy
Then instant depression

Its painful
It hurts more than
Some people can take
Causing self harm

They think more pain can
Take away the pain and pressure
They turn to cutting
Themselves

We don't get depression
For no reason
It may be because of the past
Or the present

We're hurting
Someone save us
Please
