I stare at the mirror
Wondering
How people see
My beauty
I think of my horrid
Past
People said I wasn't pretty
And I believe them
The mirror
Reflecting
The beast
That stands before it
Of I turn off the light
Darkness
I'm still there
Ugly as usual
I want to feel alive
Then
I need to be
Destroyed
I want to break the glass
Holding me
And fly away from
The beast I see
Why can't I be
Beautiful
I yell at the mirror
Why can't I be pretty
Shatter me to pieces
Then
You'll see your
True self
Lights on
Brightness
A hammer in my hands
A swing is all it took
Now I truly am
Free.
