Cake

Authors note: The girls seemed a little bland with character development so I took break from Ramirez.

Diana's POV
"Jesus, about time he left." Riley said as she hopped on the couch.

"I hope me doesn't do anything dangerous." Zoey said worryingly before walking off to another room.

"Why the hell is she so worried about him, she acts like he's her son." Riley complained as she let out a yawn. "I didn't even get any sleep because I was crafting his crap."

Isabel rolled her eyes and gave a look to Kate before walking off after Zoey.

Kate walked over to where Riley was laying down and grabbed her by the cheeks. "DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE." Kate yelled in her face before pulling Riley up. "Come on, your going to cook with me."

"NO!, anything but that!" Riley pulled on Kate's grasp and dug in her feet put it was no us with Kate's energetic nature. That just left me alone in the main room.

I walked over to my engineering room and got out my Tool box, Ramirez thought that I had left the glider behind at the village, but I still had the blueprints to my newest prototype that I could replicate with the materials I needed. I hoped to get it operational for him in a week at most.

"Let's see we have, wool, feathers, iron, arrows, crap Rick didn't have Fire charges!" I exclaimed as I went through my storage.

Fire charges would be the hardest thing to obtain, I would have to get them from ghasts in the nether. "Shit, I have to ask Ramirez." I said to myself.

So much for the surprise.

Riley's POV

"See making a cake wasn't that hard." Kate said as she got it out of the oven. "Ramirez is going to love it." Kate exclaimed enthusiastically.

My hands had blisters when I touched the oven when it was on and Kate didn't even bother to me.

"Whatever, I'm going to get this treated by Isabel." I muttered.

"Your such a baby, do you want me to kiss your hand afterwards." Kate mocked.

I gave her a scowl before going off to find Isabel.

Isabel was in her medical lab fiddling around with ingredients, she was luck to have such a huge room to practice her medicine, the only other person who had this size of room was Diana who needed it to have room to tinker. Isabel noticed me coming as I showed her my hands. She let out a smile before fumbling through cabinets and took out a blood red liquid filled bottle and popped the cork. I grimaced as my hands started to sizzle while the blisters started to disappear.

As the wound was healed, Isabel wiped off any extra liquid off my hand with a cloth and gave me a thumbs up before going back to her work. Isabel was one of the only people that I never really talked back to, probably because she never talked at all, only at times when the injuries she was treating were severe, those times were often back at the village.

Kate's POV

The cake looked so delicious that I wanted to just grab it in one handful and stuff it in my mouth, but I knew the smile on everyone else's face would be worth it. I looked through the pantries to see if there was anything to coat the cake with.

"Shit, why didn't I bring any frosting, always forgetting crap Kate." I scolded myself before deciding that some chopped up fruit would do just fine. As I brought back the bowl of assorted fruit however I noticed that there was a cut piece in the cake. My mouth dropped as I saw crumbs all over the floor leaving the room.

"Riley you Motherfucker!"

Riley's POV

"I deserve a piece." I snapped with the half eaten plate in my hands.

"It was supposed to be for everyone!" Kate yelled trying to get what was left away from me.

As we were fighting though Zoey came in with a worried expression.

"Hey did you see Diana leave, I can't find her anywhere."

With Kate's hand smushed against my face and mine elbowing her chest, Zoey's expression changed to confusion.

"No, we were busy cooking." I said with Kate releasing me. It was now that we noticed the front door wide open.

Diana's POV

The village of Ivor had a nether portal in use along with a population of stout adventurers. No doubt they would have Nether supplies or at the least be able to get some for me. Ramirez would beat me home but it would be worth the surprise. I was lucky that Kate had a stockpile of different maps in her room that had all the villages in the area. I had to get there by nightfall though, the only weapon I had was a dagger that Riley made for everyone.

"This is going to be easy."
