I felt trapped.

How was I supposed to stop things from entering my mind while I slept?

The only reason that occurred to me at the last moment, I was to stay in the room when the next rulers were out and about. I pulled the black curtain on the window; the sun bright. Brighter and warmer then I’ve ever felt it, caused my exposed skin to heat up quickly.

Opening the window like door to a balcony, I sat down by the railing not moving. Looking up at the sky, so blue and clear with cotton like clouds I wondered what my town was doing now. I was pulled out of my Trans to hear metal hitting metal, voices and someone yelling? My attention was caught as down below people (men) were training, the swift movement not so crisp.

Beginners.

Sighing, I drifted. The metal clanging put me to sleep as my old locked up memories put me in their positions.

    “Where is she?”

    “I can hear her heart.”

    “It’s coming from the window.”

    “The sun’s setting.”

“Wait! I can’t hear her thoughts!”

“She’s sleeping. Throw something at her.”

     “No. I’ll get her.”

I felt somewhere off in the distance that my body was floating and then landed on the most huggable cloud in the sky.
