Camila's POV
Ever since that night I would find Lauren sneaking into bed with me, it was like her and Kenzie's roles reversed. Now she was the one who couldn't sleep alone and she begged for me to hold her at night, and this wasn't helping at all with my feelings. But I could not turn her away no matter how hard this was on me, it was like everyday my feelings for her got stronger. She was oblivious though she had no idea that I felt this way and to think if she were to ever know, I honestly don't want to think about it.
Lauren and I were currently on the way to her doctor's appointment to see just how far along she was, and she never actually confirmed the pregnancy. I knew she was pregnant I was a doctor after all but the test would just confirm it. I'm the only one so far who knew about Lauren's pregnancy she didn't want anyone to know, and I get it she didn't want everyone fawning over her.
"Thank you for coming with me today." Lauren said.
"Well I wasn't going to let you go alone, I told you that you won't have to do any of this alone." I told her.
"You're not going to be able to make it to everyone of my appointments." She stated.
"I will try my very best, if I have to push appointments around I will but I will try my best to be to every one of them." I don't think she gets it when I say that I'm going to be there for her.
She just smiles at me and then looks out the window. "You go above and beyond the title of a friend; you do more for me than an actual sister does." Lauren was speaking aloud but it sounded as if she was speaking to herself, then she looks at me. "Then what does that make you Camz?"
I turned my gaze from the road for a moment and met hers; I had to quickly turn away because I couldn't take the intense penetrating stare she was giving me.
"I...um, I don't know what that makes me Lo." I stuttered out.
I could see her looking at me through my peripherals but I didn't dare a look at her I just kept my eyes on the road.
"I guess I'll figure it out." She said just as her phone rings.
I moved my eyes from the road to see that she was hesitant to answer the phone but she answered.
"Hello...I'm doing okay actually...yeah I know it's good hearing from you...yeah Kenzie's good she is just as busy as ever, how are things going with you...really that's amazing...no, I haven't really given it that much thought...uh huh, for the last few months I've been doing good some days are harder than others but I'm managing...that's no problem I'm always available on the weekends so just stop by whenever you want...Yeah tell everyone I love them too...okay I'll talk to you later...love you too...bye." Lauren hangs up the phone. "That was Ally." She said.
"Oh yeah, is that the first time you spoke since the funeral?" I asked.
"Yeah, I have been sorta dodging her calls." Lauren confessed.
I laughed a little; Lauren has always had a low tolerance for her sister-in-law. "Why have you been dodging her calls?" I asked.
"She doesn't know how to talk to me; she always talks about memories of David and what she misses most about him. I really don't want to hear it; I figured one day I would be able to talk about that stuff and not feel so saddened by it but I'm not at that point yet and she doesn't get that." She said.
"It sounded like you invited her over." I said referring to her conversation.
"Yeah I guess I did she wants to see Kenzie." She told me.
"I guess it's nothing wrong with that she wants to see her niece."
"Can you be there when she comes?" She asked.
