Lauren's POV
A year forward...
"Mom I really don't want to talk about this right now, it's too early."
I stirred awake at Camila's voice I was sleeping peacefully before then, I could tell she tried to keep it down but it didn't help any. I turned around in bed to see Camila with the phone up to her ear, she looked at me and gave me an apologetic look, I just waved her off she was never a bother to me.
"I will talk to you later mom...yeah I love you too...alright, bye." Camila hangs up her phone and sits it on the nightstand.
"Good morning." I said.
Camila looks at me and smiles. "Morning Lo, I'm sorry for waking you."
"It's fine, what did your mom want?" I asked.
"She wanted to set me up with this guy who's new to her practice." She shared.
It wasn't the best news I've heard I definitely wasn't expecting it. "Yeah, Sinu's playing matchmaker now." I joked.
"She's been doing it for a while now actually; I just didn't want to go out with a guy that my mom set me up with. But I'm starting to think that's the only way I'm going to meet somebody so I'm going to go out with this guy." She says.
I have no clue why but I really didn't want her to date I liked the bubble we've had for nearly two years. "Oh, why do you feel that's the only way you'll meet somebody?" I asked.
"Well Lauren when I'm not at work I'm here with you and the kids so I don't have time to meet anyone. Not that I mind but it would be nice to actually go on a date, I haven't been with someone in a little over a year. I really think it's time for me to get back out there and I think that this is the best way." She voiced.
"Yeah you're right, I guess it is time for you to get back out there." I said trying to be happy for her.
"What about you Lo when are you going to get back out there? I mean Joey's one now he's not a tiny baby anymore I think it's time." She suggested.
"I have no desire to date Camz and I don't want to force it, I'm content with my life for the time being." I told her.
"Completely understandable, so I should go start breakfast." She said getting out of bed.
"I'll help you."
Camila and I got into the kitchen and decided to make banana pancakes the kids loved them. Camila was flipping the pancakes that were on the griddle she was literally in her own world singing something I didn't really catch it.
I was scrabbling eggs while Camila was in her own world. "Oh my god you sound terrible please shut up." I teased her.
Camila looked at me with a smile. "Shut up."
"I'm kidding what are you singing anyway?" I asked.
She shakes her head and laughs a bit. "I was watching Sesame Street with Joey the other day and there was this rubber ducky song and I guess it's just stuck in my head."
"I swear I have a playlist of kid songs running through my head, what is real music anymore." I laughed.
"What's your favorite?" She asked.
I thought as I distributed eggs on our plates. "Um, there's so many to choose from." I joked.
"Yeah there are, I like the 'time for your checkup' on Doc McStuffins you know I relate to it because I'm a doctor and all." She said.
"Well I think I am going to go with 'Elmo's World' it's simple and catchy." I said.
She nods. "Good one. Now breakfast is done let's wake the kids."
