Camila's POV

These contractions really weren't a joke I never felt so much pain in my life and I've had my head cracked open.

I was admitted into the hospital about five hours ago and my labor was progressing nicely. Lauren was right here by my side just like I was when she was giving birth and her presence really made it better.

"You are doing so great baby." Lauren said placing kisses on the side of my head.

"You're just saying that." I told her.

"No she's not, I've done this for a while and you are doing amazing considering this is your first time giving birth." The nurse added in before walking out.

Lauren smiled. "See I told you babe."

I smiled back despite my pain. "Can you rub my back, Lo?"

"Anything you want sweetie." She said.

I turned on my side to give her access to my back which was naked because of the gown I had on. Her hands were a little cold to the touch at first but then I got use to it and it felt amazing.

"That feels so good, just keep doing that." I said with a slight hum as I closed my eyes.

"You are a champ babe." Lauren said.

I smiled she was so encouraging. "Thank you, I couldn't imagine doing this without you."

"Don't you think it's crazy that we do get to do this though, that you and I are having a baby together." She spoke thoughtfully.

"Well just imagine if I had gotten pregnant by one of those jerks I use to date, this is how I envisioned giving birth with someone I love completely by my side." I told her.

"You have had a couple pregnancy scares though didn't you?" She brought up.

"Yes I did, I just can't believe that I slept with so many guys." I confessed.

"You were looking for something Camila; I really can't blame you for that. We all do things in the past that we look back on and wish we hadn't."

"Well there are a lot of things I regret but I know one thing I don't and that's becoming friends with you. That first day in a new school I pulled up all the courage I could muster and asked if I could sit by you. You have no idea how nervous I was but when we started talking I realize that there was nothing to be worried about. You and I just work we always have, you were always the one for me and I know that." I spoke.

"Life is certainly strange isn't it?"

I just nod.

She continued massaging my back and that really helped with the contractions because I felt a lot of pain there. While she massaged me I managed to go to sleep which was weird because I was in a lot of pain, I think it was because I was so calm.

"Camila, baby wake up they want to check you." Lauren's voice stirred me from my slumber.

I groaned. "How long was I asleep?"

"Um, two hours," She said.

"Wow." It didn't feel like I slept long at all.

The nurse walked up to me with a glove on then she lifts up my covers and sticks her gloved hand under to check my cervix.

"Okay so you are fully dilated we can start you pushing." The nurse said retracting her hand and pulling off the glove.

"I expected the labor to take longer especially because I was on bed rest." I really thought it would be way longer considering this was the first time I was giving birth.
