Camila's POV

I have to admit I really like Chace my first date with him was amazing which lead me to go on more dates with him. The more I went out with him through the more distant Lauren became and it confused me, she has never been that way to me. I planned on recertifying that, my friendship was hanging in the balance and I had to make it right.

I was currently having dinner at this nice restaurant with Chace and I was enjoying myself this was my third date (not to include the random lunch dates) with him and it looked promising. He was great company and an amazing conversationalist not to mention extremely gorgeous. My mom didn't tell me how nice looking he was she just told me how good of a guy he was and so far so good. He was like if you had the checklist for a perfect guy there would be a check by each box. He didn't talk about himself in a narcissistic way like a lot of doctors I know do; he made you adamant in a conversation which men don't generally do. Most if not all the guys I have gone out with talk themselves up hardly giving me leeway in the conversation, so Chace was a breath of fresh air.

"This place is amazing I never been here before." I said eating a forkful of my delicious food.

"Really? Well I'm glad I brought you here it's one of my favorites, I don't eat out often so when I do I like to know that it's the best." He said.

"Well it's very nice I have to bring Lauren here one day." I said.

"You do a lot of things with Lauren?" He asked.

"I guess we have gotten closer after her husband died." I shared.

"When did he pass?" He asked picking up his wine.

"Almost two years ago." I answered.

"I couldn't imagine losing a spouse that young you marry in hopes that it last forever, so losing a spouse via death or divorce has to be hard." He voiced.

"It hit her really hard but she's very strong always has been, I think finding out later she was pregnant with their second child gave her that life she needed. It's good to see that almost two years later she's happy and healthy, which is more than anyone could have hoped for."

"You're a good friend not many people would do what you did for their friend you must care about her a great deal."

Oh buddy you have no idea. "I do, she's my best friend."

He smiles at me. "Maybe we can be best friend too, then lovers." He said raising his eyebrows.

I blushed. "Is it imperative that we be friends first?"

"Yes, most definitely haven't you ever heard that friends make the best lovers?"

If that's the case Lauren and I would be great lovers if ever afforded the chance.

I bit my lip and looked at him. "Alright then friends first."

"Great now you have to tell me your deepest darkest secrets." He joked.

"Well I already shared my darkest secret with someone already, and in order for a secret to work you can't tell a bunch of people." I said.

He laughed. "Yeah that makes sense but is it something crazy, just for reassurance."
