Shawn's POV:

"Brooklyn Rae Mendes, sit down! You are not having some strawberry milk before bed." I growl. She sticks her lower lip out as it begins to quiver, small whimpers escaping her tiny four year old frame.

"Daddy, please." She whines as she begins to cry.

"Brooke, honey, I said no." I reply. Tears begin to roll down her cheeks, and seconds later she releases a loud scream, dramatically falling from her small chair onto the floor.

"Why?" She cries. I take a deep breath and hold it for a couple of seconds, taking in my daughter on the floor in near hysterics.

"Brooke, you're going to wake up Emily. You have until I count to three to get your act together." I say, sternly. "One... two..."

"Okay." She yells, running the back of her hand over her eyes as she sits up, no longer crying.

"Now come here." I call her over. She sniffles, shuffling her feet over towards me.

"You let lil' sis have a cup of milk." She complains, falling onto the couch. I chuckle.

"And when did I do that?" I ask her, helping her onto my lap. Her dark hair frames her snotty face.

"R-right after she finished eating."

"Brooke, that was medicine. I know it was pink, and it looked like strawberry milk, but it was Emily's medicine for her sinus infection." I move her hair out of her face.

"Oh. Well, I want some medicine."

"Brooklyn, you aren't sick. You can't have medicine if you aren't sick!" I chuckle. She wipes her nose.

"Can I have some strawberry milk instead?" She tries. Again, I laugh.

"Good try, sweetheart, but no luck!"

I'm met again with wails and a dramatic temper tantrum.

"But mommy lets me!" She cries. I smile and pick her up off the couch.

"It's bath time, and this argument is over."

"Okay." She sniffles. Bath time always puts her in a better mood. "Can I play?"

"Brooke, love, not tonight. It's already past your bedtime." I hate turning her down, knowing it will only cause another fit.

"Awww." She whines.

"But hey, maybe, just maybe if you're good, I'll do something special later." I bargain. She stops whining and crying instantly as we reach her room.

"Will you sing for me?" She smiles as she gets undressed.

"Maybe. But you have to be good. And quick in the bathtub because its way past your bedtime!" I respond. She practically runs into the bathroom, and I help her quickly wash her hair then her body.

She giggles as I wrap her in a towel and rush her back into her room.

"I love it when you do that. Mommy doesn't let me do that!" She laughs.

"Oh really? Now keep this quiet then!" I smile, getting her dressed and tucked into bed. As I pull out her brush to brush her wet hair, I begin to hum her favorite song.

Not to soon after, she cuddles up in her sheets and I begin to sing. With one last smile, she drifts off to sleep.

"I love you, Brooke." I say as I turn off her lights and shut her door.
