Shawn's POV:

"Hey, Reagan, I'm sorry I couldn't be down in Louisiana with your family for our anniversary!" I quickly say into the phone.

"It's okay, Shawn. We're having fun! Good luck at Toronto's show tonight. I'll be home tomorrow night, then we can really celebrate our anniversary. And I'm sorry I couldn't be at your last show." She replies. Laughter comes from the background of her line.

"It's fine, love. I'll call you back later tonight after the show, okay?" I listen to the girls screaming my name from outside.

"Okay, babe. I'll talk to you later. I love you!"

"Love you too, princess." I say before hanging up. John rolls his shoulders.

"You ready to go say hi?" He asks. I nod and push the heavy metal door open, screams loudly piercing the air.

"Hey guys!" I yell, smiling. They all scream back at me and I begin to randomly take pictures with the people at the front of the barriers. I reach the end of the line and start to turn around so I can go back into the venue, but my eye catches a familiar face and I stop dead in my tracks.

"Shawn, come on kid. We have to get back inside." John taps me on my shoulder as I hear Andrew's voice come from the walkie talkie strapped to John's waist.

"Let's go, Shawn. Second soundcheck is now." He demands.

"Give me a couple of minutes." I murmur as I begin to walk away from them. Y/N looks up from her phone at the crowd in front of the venue, then sees me walking towards her. As if a switch had flipped, her face drops and she spins away, walking as fast as she can.

"Y/N, wait!" I call after her, practically running to catch up to her. Finally, I get close enough to grab her arm. She turns towards me, her face red and streaked with new tear stains.

"What?" She says, harshly. I feel a knot form in the back of my throat as I try to choke back my own tears.

The last time I talked to her was at my wedding reception with Reagan where some pretty cold words were exchanged. She was mad at me for inviting her to the wedding. And I ended up being mad at her for coming instead of ignoring the invitation.

"I just wanted to say, I'm sorry for everything. I don't know why I invited you. I knew it would cause trouble, but I wasn't really expecting you to say yes, and-" My voice cracks and I drift off, looking into Y/N's eyes.

"I hope you haven't met another girl to introduce to Reagan before you break her heart. Goodbye, Shawn." Her voice is ice cold. I release her arm and she turns on her heels, leaving me alone on the street corner with the sound of girls screaming my name.
