Marinette sighed as Nathanaël kissed her hand with a elegant bow. He was cute, but so was the Adrien guy. Nathanaël pulled out a silver necklace with a sapphire hanging from it. "Marry me and I'll give anything and everything your heart desires." He whispered. "And I won't give you this necklace until you do." Marinette gulped. She barely knew these men, why was her mother trying to marry her off to them. Adrien approached her. "Bonjour Marinette." He greeted politely. Nathanaël glared at him. "She's mine." He hissed. "And no one will stop me from marrying her."
For the rest of the evening, both gentlemen flirted with her. Marinette could tell that Adrien was starting to show feelings for her, while Nathanaël's feelings were clearly there. "Marinette." Her mother's voice snapped. "Yes Mother?" Marinette replied sweetly. "Which one of these gentlemen will you marry?" Marinette gulped. She barely knew either of them, but she knew that both were rich. Extremely rich. Rich enough to please her mother.
