Frisk's P.O.V.
"No. No, there has to be SOME other way!" Sans shook his head, denying what I had said. "For all we know, you could be dead after you break the barrier!"
"Listen, okay?" I said, grabbing Sans' shoulder. "I WANT to do this. I'm going to do this. You monsters have been stuck down here for years-- CENTURIES! It's time you finally get out and breathe."
"All for what? Stars?!" Sans asked, now getting outraged. "A cooking job?! The sun and moon?! We have a life DOWN HERE! Dammit...I knew after we brought that barrier shit up, you'd want to be the hero in this!"
"Are you seriously going to start this whole thing again?" I asked, getting a little annoyed. "After a few days since our last fight, I remind you that tore me to pieces, we're going to start another one?"
"I'm starting this 'fight' because I don't want to lose you! AGAIN!" Sans blurted out, tears filling his eye sockets. "I CAN'T lose you again! Believe it or not, that tore me apart too!"
I stayed silent. So did the others who listened to us. I felt bad for them, having to hear our little argument.
"You know I don't plan on leaving, right?" I asked, my lip quivering. "I'm too stubborn to, heh. I don't want to lose you either, but right now...I want to give you ALL something in return for taking care of me. Caring for me as one of your own. Please...understand that I want to do this."
"You're an idiot, you know that?" Sans laughed. "A serious sacrifice to get us back up to the real world. You dork."
"You're a dork too," I laughed, hugging Sans. He hugged back, sighing in the process.
"Please know, my child, that we REALLY appreciate your sacrifice. It means a lot to the monster race," Toriel stepped in, patting me on the back. "I'm certain the entire underground AND many humans on the surface will know your name for this."
I nodded. I knew I was making this huge choice weather to break the barrier or stay down here with the monsters.
But I needed to do this for them. Not just for my close friends, but I know that others want to see the surface at it's best too.
"So. That's it then..." Undyne said, sighing. "You're really are a punk. Making sure we are happy with whatever."
I laughed. "It's my job to...I never want to see anyone unhappy. I don't ever want you guys to go through...something I'VE been through. It's never something you guys should have to deal with."
"Depression? I've been through that," Sans said, shrugging. Not knowing how to respond, I smiled.
"Asgore...when you want to get this started, tell me," I said, turning to Asgore. He nodded and scoffed a little.
"I should be asking you that, if being honest," Asgore chuckled, resting his hand on my back. "When you are ready, come tell me. If there's anything you wish to do before, don't hesitate to get the things you need to get done."
I nodded as I stood up. The first person I noticed was Papyrus and his sad look. I smiled.
"Papyrus? Do you think I can talk to you for a second?" I asked, pointing down to the hallway. He nodded and got up as I had. He followed me down the hall until we stopped.
I started trying to reassure Papyrus. "I know you are scared. I know you are sad. But think of all the things that you'll be able to do up there! You can be a chef! You can be a counselor! All of these things are something you can achieve when you're up there."
"B-BUT YOU WON'T BE THERE TO WITNESS IT!" Papyrus said as his body started shaking. "I WANT YOU TO BE THERE WHEN I GET MY FIRST 'CAREER!' I WANT YOU TO BE THERE WHEN I SERVE MY FIRST CUSTOMER!"
As best as I could, I hugged him...well I hugged his spine. He hugged back as I gently shushed him.
"You have NOTHING to worry about," I reassured Papyrus once again. "I WILL be there to witness it all. I can PROMISE you that."
"T-THANK YOU, FRISK..." Papyrus said. That caught me off guard. Papyrus has never called me by my full name in months!
"You're truly great, Papyrus. I, platonically, love you..." I said, grasping Papyrus tighter. Though I said I "platonically" loved him, I didn't mean it. I truly loved Papyrus. One of the best friends I've had in years.
"THE SAME GOES FOR YOU..." Papyrus said, patting my back. I smiled as we let go of our hug. We walked back to the others.
Alphys, Undyne, and Toriel seemed nervous, Asgore seemed unsure about this whole situation, Papyrus was okay...I hope...and Sans...
Sans looked scared. He looked worried. He looked...soulless. I knew he was on edge about this whole thing, and I wouldn't blame him.
I want the best for my friends, especially for Sans. I know it will hurt for a moment, but I'm sure everything will turn out okay.

They deserve so much. For them, I'm doing this.
