It was like a movie, the way Tyler ran passed anything, destroying every soul that got in his way. His shoes were falling apart underneath him, the ground was rough and he could feel it in the palm of his feet. All of this didn't matter, though, because he was just that much closer to finding Josh.

The moonlight reflected against the metal of Josh's bike which had been thrown on the gravel. When Tyler spotted it, he ran towards it, hoping he wasn't too late. But the bike was abandoned and Tyler was standing alone.

The familiar sound of rushing water sounded in the empty air and Tyler ran, fear driving him. He got to the edge, where you could look over the beautiful river, the waterfall splashing high against the rocks.

A shadow made its way to the edge, and Tyler saw Josh. Like the leaves in the wind, like the feeling of warm water against your skin in a bath on a winter evening. Like the simplest act of picking an apple from a tree, like a swift of fresh air on an autumn day, it's the smile on your face that made it shine.

All the beautiful things vanished in that very instant because Josh jumped and Tyler was too late.
