If you fall down eight times, stand up nine times.

We both looked up, our breaths caught in our throats in fear and anxiety. And without even using a light, we discerned a figure seating on the branch which was just beyond our heads.

A figure, darker than the night and darker than the blackest color of black was perched up there. Yellow snake like eyes looking down at us menacingly, sharp fangs glinting in the darkness.

With trembling hands, I pointed a light up and the scariest being was illuminated before our very eyes.

A scream escaped my mouth as Kevin gripped my arm tightly with a whimper as fear made it's way into our system making us tremble in fright.

Above us was a being we never saw before. It had black skin, a human-like body, sharp claws for nails and frightening five pairs of black wings which was darker and blacker than anything I've ever seen.

It screeched for the second time and bared his fangs on us before it swooped down flying towards us.

And as an initial reaction, Kevin and I dove for the ground, it's claws barely missing us at all but my pen light flew away from my hands as we fell with a soft thud.

"Let's go! Hurry!" I yelled frantically at Kevin who obeyed at once. We both scampered up and ran blindly into the night. Blood was pounding in my ears as we hurriedly ran away, from whatever that was.

It's a demon. That's only the logical answer I know. With it's horrible appearance,it says that much.

I tightly held my brother's hand and pulled him behind me for I will not loose him.

We heard another deafening screech from the demon and I was surprised by how near it was, I tried to turn around to defend myself but too late though, I felt sharp claws pierce through my thick winter jacket and into my skin of my left arm making me scream from the pain.

"Get away from my sister!!!" I heard Kevin shout beside me. A moment later and a ball of frozen water hit the monster squarely in the face. It made a sickening crunch as though some bones were broken that I tried my best not to cringe.

The monster was thrown aback by the force and his claws were prevented from burying themselves any further into my flesh. I could feel the liquid flow out of my wound and fall on little drops into the white snow covering the ground, making a contrast of red and white color.

"You demon!" My brother angrily shouted and water suddenly floated infront of him, speedily solidifying and forming a spear with a sharp tip.

"You'll pay for what you did!" He vowed and the ice-spear flew to the demon piercing it's right shoulder. It released a defeaning screech that sounded like it was in agony and that, I didn't doubt.

My knees felt like jelly and I stumbled on the ground as I winced at the pain of my wound caused by the beast.

"Are you alright Muriel?"Kevin worriedly asked as he knelt behind me and examined my wound.

"Stop moving for a moment. Keep the demon distracted while I stop the bleeding." I heard him command me. It took me only a second to what he was getting at to but I just nodded and kept still.

He can control any liquid and blood is liquid. It's not impossible. I then looked at the demon and much to my horror, I saw him in time pulling out the spear made of frozen water, his wound fastly healing itself.

"Holy cow." I muttered as I tried to concentrate. It's eyes gleamed in the night with ruthlessness as it growled at us. When it came running our way, I flicked my right hand towards the creature.
