Muriel

Before I could stop myself, I grabbed his hand, pulled him down and hugged him, encasing him in my arms as I spoke the words.

"I still can't believe that you are Raziel's brother whom I've always assumed as my brother but... Please do consider that he's patiently waiting for you-----"

My eyes flew to the door when I heard it open and damn... I didn't expect whom I saw....

He was frozen on his spot as he stared at us and I couldn't help but be curious when I saw his eyes widen. It was as if he was seeing us but not seeing us. Okay? That was totally confusing.

"Leirum?" I asked cautiously but he didn't seem to hear me so I waved my hand but it seemed that he wasn't seeing me, too because his eyes were still wide. That was when I saw the necklace that Raziel had given him in the past. It glowed white and I gasped when I felt my heart race. Feeling something so nostalgic and I stared wide eyed at the first ranker.

I can feel the stone that the necklace Raziel gave me just the same. It felt utterly warm against my skin and I looked down, seeing a vibrant white glow that passed through my clothes and I felt my head starting to hurt so I clutched the sides of my head, confusedly staring at the shock still evident on Leirum's face. Why did it look so nostalgic? What is this... Panic started to rise in me and I shook my head stiffly.

Wh-why-----

"Muriel! Leirum!"

I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Sammael shouting our names and I stood up in shock, calming my erratically beating heart as the glow coming from the necklaces that Leirum and I both had vanished.

Leirum seemed to have just snapped from his daze from the same as he shook his head and composed himself, disbelief written all over his face as his lips trembled and he stared at me... The look of shock in them slowly vanishing and being replaced by another emotion.

I felt uneasy while he regarded me so coldly... Just like how he did the very first day our eyes met but I was really grateful that the disgusted look he had back then was a minus now.

Without saying anything, he averted his icy glare from me, turned on his heel and pulled Cyan who had just appeared by the door, nodding at Sammael who looked uncertain and confused.

"Make sure the others are preoccupied that they won't come down here for now." I heard the first ranker say, probably directed to Cyan before we heard the sound of door closing shut.

"Hey, Sammael!" Raziel soon came bouncing inside the room, a carefree expression on his face before he sat between us two and wrapped small arms around our shoulders while I refuse to speak for now after everything that had happened. What was that? What even happened?

"I see that you've met big sister Muriel." Raziel stated with a goofy grin while Sammael still looked uncertain and I could only force a smile.

"Big sister... She sure does act like one." Sammael stated after a few minutes of silence and I rolled my eyes, pushing my earlier thoughts away and I ended up smirking at the both of them.

"Yeah. I am the big sister since I am more mature than beings that are way tooooooo older than me." I mocked and they both narrowed their eyes at me.

"What's that supposed to mean?!"

Yup... They really were brothers... My smile slowly faded when I remembered the first ranker's coldness towards me and it felt like my heart was being squeezed.

That... Doesn't mean that he'll regard me that way all the time just like the first weeks we were together right?

Besides... What did I do wrong and what was that feeling?
