Ace's Point of View:
"Ready for the race man?" Martin asked as I was putting on my leather jacket. Martin Giovanni is my best friend and he is pretty good at getting me races. When I race, I am known as Shadow because of my dark hair and dark clothes. This is just a wild guess, though.
"Yep, thanks for getting me in this one on short notice," I said as I put on my motorcycle helmet.
"I heard that Stone Fox entered in this race," Martin said and my eyes widened.
"Stone Fox? No way, after four years?" I asked incredulously and Martin nodded.
"I am guessing that she is back in town trying to get the fastest racer title again," Martin said and I scoffed.
"No way is she taking that title from me Martin," I said while sitting on my motorcycle. I heard the distant cheers from the crowd, as I was getting ready in an alley.
"Yeah man, but she had the title before she was gone for four years. They gave the title to you because she was MIA for so long and you were the second fastest racer," Martin said and I nodded.
"Alright, got to go," I said revving my motorcycle and driving to the start line. I recognized the driver next to me as the one and only Stone Fox. She had a fox on the back of her leather jacket and I recognized her signature white motorcycle. Honestly, her bike is sick and her jacket is probably custom made. I wonder who she got it from because the person who created her jacket must know her identity.
"You are going to be experiencing a good race today. We have Shadow, our fastest racer, against Stone Fox! Yes you heard it, our undefeated racer is back in town," the announcer boomed, "Will one of them win the race or will another one of our racers win?" the announcer said and I guess Martin heard correct.
Soon the flag was dropped and I immediately put my speed on max, but I was still behind Stone Fox. I pushed onto the gas pedal harder and was almost getting close to her. I tried to catch up with her at every turn, but she kept her speed and was able to stay in front of me. As I cranked up my engine, I saw that the other racers were a long way behind us. That is when I realized that this race was going to be between the two of us. People were cheering 'Shadow', but more were cheering 'Stone Fox' which made me roll my eyes. Since I was watching the crowd, I lost focus and saw Stone Fox turn back to glance at me and shot across the finish line.
"And our undefeated racer stays undefeated! Stone Fox is the winner!" the announcer said. I drove up to where she was when I saw her mask. I took off my helmet and looked at her.
"How are you so fast? I can't believe that I lost to a girl," I asked stunned.
"Maybe you just have to improve your game," she said simply before driving away. I was surprised at how confident she sounded when she talked to me. Soon, I drove home where I met Martin.
"Dude, I can't believe that you lost your title to a girl," Martin said and I scowled.
"Well originally I didn't get that title by beating her in the first place," I muttered, "-but yes, stop stating the obvious."
"You technically got the title by racing other people because she was absent for a while," Martin said, "-but no offense Ace...I was rooting for Stone Fox because I knew she was going to win."
"Whatever," I said and stormed into the house.

"Hey Ace, so your brother's friend is coming over today so I need you not to make so much noise because I don't want to scare them away," Mom said the next day. Jean Swift is my mom. She is amazing and she works hard to take care of my brother and I.
