Max's POV:

To say that our date was amazing was an understatement. It wasn't a perfect first date for most girls, but it was the perfect date for me. It was the perfect date for us, kissing and talking under the stars, surrounded by the peaceful and warm sounds of nature. Ace drove me home and we shared another kiss before he let me through the door. As I walked into the kitchen, I saw Mom at the counter reading some files.

"Hey Mom," I said quietly.

"Hey honey, where did you go?" Mom asked.

"Ace took me on a date," I said slowly and her smile grew bigger.

"Oh my gosh, my daughter is in love!" Mom exclaimed.

"I am not in love," I muttered.

"Maybe not now, but you look so carefree and happy right now. That tells me that he is treating you right," Mom said and I went over to her and hugged her.

"Thank you Mom. You are my rock and I am glad that you are always there for me," I said.

"Of course Max. I want to be there for you and Macy. I just hope that Macy understands that I want to be there for her. That's why I want you to be there for her. I rather have her relying on you, than me. I know that you will teach her well," Mom said.

"She knows that you are there for her. She is very smart," I said.

"She is very bright, like you," Mom said. I smiled into Mom's hair and savored the feeling of safety when my Mom hugged me. The same feeling that I felt when Ace hugged me.

"If we were in a cartoon, hearts would be coming out of your head," Rick said walking past me. I rolled my eyes and wiped the table.

"I overheard you talking to Alex that you went on a date," Rick said, "I am a bit sad that it isn't you and Caleb together, but Daisy is alright now."

"Yeah, she definitely has changed and I think that Caleb and I will be more like brother and sister than," I said motioning my hands, "-that."

"I guess so, Alex is waiting impatiently right now so take your ten minute break and be back right after," Rick said sternly and I saluted him. I walked into Rick's office and saw Alex sitting on the chair.

"Tell me all the details!" Alex exclaimed jumping to her feet.

"Well he took me to this waterfall and we ended up having a picnic and stargazing. It was so peaceful and magical," I said in awe.

"Was it the same waterfall that he took you when he asked you out?" Alex asked and I nodded.

"It was a simple date Alex, but it had so much meaning to it," I explained.

"Sounds romantic Max, I am seriously so happy for you. This is the guy that makes you happy Max. This is the guy that really deserves you," Alex said and I hugged her tightly.

"You are the best," I said. My phone rang and it was Jean. Maybe, she needed me to pick up Macy early, I didn't know.

"Hi Jean, what's up?" I asked nonchalantly.

"Max, Ace is missing. I tried calling his cell and he hasn't came home from yesterday," Jean said with a worried voice.

"Did something happen?" I asked.

"I don't know, did something happen yesterday?" Jean asked.

"No, he dropped me off and drove home. I actually haven't heard from him since yesterday," I said, "Don't worry about it Jean. I will call some people and ask if they have seen him."
