5. SETH JONES | blue jackets

"I pick Alex!" your boyfriend, Seth Jones, shouts.

You were playing three on three hockey with him and his teammates that included Ryan Murray, your brother Boone Jenner, Alexander Wennberg, Brandon Saad and you.

The teams had finally been decided: You, Seth, and Alex and Boone, Ryan and Brandon.

You tried to win a bad pass from Boone, but you were skating way to fast and crashed into the boards.

You were slow to get up.

No one thought anything of it because everyone who crashed into the boards was slow to get up.

However, after about 15 more seconds, Alex skated over to you, only to be horrified.

His face was the last thing you saw before black covered your already blurry vision.

Alex POV

"Seth, Boone, come over here, and quick!" I shout.

They both skate over to me quickly, and their facial expressions go from okay to horrified, just like mine.

They were quickly followed by Ryan and Brandon.

There was blood on the ice, as well as blood trickling down Y/N's face.

"Alex, you call 911 while Boone and I check on Y/N. Brandon and Ryan, you go wait outside so the paramedics know that this is the place where she is." Seth said in an obviously panicked voice.

I ran to the locker room to get my phone, and then quickly called 911.

I met Seth and Boone back on the ice to discover Seth cradling Y/N's head.

Boone was also supporting Y/N.

The paramedics arrived about 5 minutes later, and Y/N was quickly loaded into the ambulance.

Seth POV
"Y/N!" All five of us hockey players rushed to the doctor, and he allowed me and Boone to go in.

"Hi babe." I said to Y/N.

"Y/N, I love you so much. I'm your brother, and I'm supposed to protect you." Boone said, tears now streaming down his face. "At that time, I just couldn't. This is all my fault!"

At this point, tears were now streaming down my face.

"Boone, it's not your fault. You're just making this harder on yourself." I manage to spit out.

I run out of the room, I just can't see Y/N this way! It's too hard!

Alex and Brandon go in, and Boone comes out.

At this point, I just can't take it anymore. I collapse onto my knees and start sobbing.

Ryan tries reassuring me, but that's not helping.

Through my sobs I tell Ryan to grab his phone to call the rest of the team.

(Phone Call) Ryan's POV

"Hello." I say into the phone.

"Hey Ryan." Zach Werenski responds.

I just can't take it anymore. I start crying.

"Ryan, are you okay?"

"Zach, there's been an accident. Boone, Seth, Alex, Saad, Y/N and I were playing hockey. Y/N crashed into the boards and I can tell something is seriously wrong. Please meet us at the hospital as soon as you can and don't forget to tell the rest of the team."

"Oh Ryan, I'm so sorry. I'll be there as soon as I can." Zach says, ending the call.

I run through the halls back to where some of my teammates were standing.

Alex and Brandon were now out of the room and Seth was nowhere in sight.

"Ryan, it's your turn to go see her." Boone says, struggling to fight back tears.

"Okay." That's all I say before quickly heading into Y/N's hospital room.

Seth was there talking to Y/N softly.

"Y/N, stay with me. I love you with all my heart, and I can't afford to lose you."

I don't want to interrupt that moment, but I quickly do and then let Seth have some alone time with her.

Seth POV

"Remember the day we met? I was begging Boone for permission to ask you out. When he finally gave in, I hugged him like he wasn't going to live tomorrow."

I felt a little squeeze on my hand and I looked down to discover that Y/N was awake.

"Baby, you're awake!" I whisper-shout, and then tell Y/N I'll be right back.

I stumble into the hallway.

"Boone, I think you'll be happy!" I tell him, kind of giving a hint away.

I pull him into Y/N's room and he's shocked.

I run back out into the hall to discover the whole team is here now.

"Hey guys." I say calmly. "Thanks for coming."

"You're welcome, Seth." Brandon Dubinsky shouts from the back of the group.

"Ryan sounded pretty panicked on the phone when I answered his call. It sounded like it was a serious situation." Zach says.

"It is.'' I start; "But you'll be happy to know that Y/N woke up just a few minutes earlier!"

"That's great!" shouts Nick Foligno, the captain of the Blue Jackets.

"I'm so glad!" Sergei Bobrovsky yells, his heavy Russian accent filling the room.

After Boone comes out of the hospital room, I allow Zach and Curtis McElinney to go in and see her.

Zach POV
"Hi Y/N." I calmly say to her.

She can't talk just yet.

She points to some water on her bedside table.

"This? Water?" I ask.

She nods.

"The whole team is here, and were all glad you're okay." Curtis says as I'm handing Y/N her water.

"It's true Y/N." I softly say to her.

Seth quickly comes in the room and kisses Y/N's cheek.

I leave the room so they can have some alone time.

Seth POV

"You scared me there, Y/N!"

"I scared myself, Seth." Y/N says just above a whisper.

"I love you, Y/N/N. I hope you know that.

"I love you too, Seth. I will never forget you no matter what."
