After a while, Josh goes back to his room to check if Mariah is still there.

"Are you okay?"She stands up.

"Yeah, I think you should go."He mumbles.

"Okay, well congrats again on the internship. If you need anything you know where to call."She smiles and grabs her bag.

He nods and walks her out.

"Uncle Josh."Riley goes up to him and hugs him.

"Woah, what's up kiddo?"He chuckles sadly as he hugs her back.

"Did you really tell my father about Maya?"She wonders out loud.

"Yeah, I was scared that he would feel a type of way about it but it's my life, you know? I have control over it and I needed to come clean."He pulls away.

"I'm proud of you."Riley smiles.

"Thanks but I guess I did that all for nothing."He scratches the back of his neck.

"You didn't do it for nothing, uncle Josh. I have faith that no matter what happens, months or years, you and Maya will be happy together."

"I don't think so anymore kiddo."He sighs.

Riley raises a brow. "What do you mean?"

"She isn't the Maya I aspired to be with. Things change. People change." He shrugs.

"That's it? You're giving up?"Riley glares at him.

"I can't do this anymore, Riley. All I got from that conversation was that it's my fault for everything. I want to be alone right now."

"I understand." Riley whispers.

"Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to lock myself in this room till college starts."He jokes and shuts the door behind him.

Riley frowns at the sight of Josh and wanders to her room.

Her eyes widen as an idea pops into her head. She quickly rushes back and goes into his room .

"UNCLE JOSH YOU NEED TO MAKE MAYA JEALOUS!"She shouts.

"I just told you that I don't want to be with her Riley..."He sighs.

"Oh please. If Maya busted through this door and demanded you to get back to her, you would bow down in a second."Riley makes a sassy remark.

He rolls his eyes. "Why are you so stuck on this?"

"Because you're sad. I can see it in your eyes, you have true feelings for her and I don't want you to think that you did anything for nothing."

"Fine. What's the plan?"Josh gives a little smile.

"Okay so..."Riley smiles as she tells him every thing that'll lead up until that very moment.
