Recap from previous part:

When I pushed the door open, I heard whimpers coming from my room. Curious, I opened the door and found Yuri trashing about, murmuring Russian as he tossed and turned. His eyebrows were furrowed, and beads of sweat trickled down his pale face. It was clear he was having a nightmare. I knelt down beside him, grabbing his shoulder and giving him a violent shake. "сохранить ее, пожалуйста!" He yelled, his failing arms latching onto mine.

His eyes shot open, and my lips parted slightly in surprise.

He was crying.

Y/N's POV

"Y-Yuri..." I breathed out, tightening my grip on him. "A-Are you okay?" I asked worriedly, reaching out to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead. His skin was still burning to the touch. "Let go of me." He grunted, smacking my hand away and pushing me aside, causing me to land on my thigh heavily. "Oi! Is that how you're supposed to-" I stopped when he turned and gave me a glare, silencing me efficiently.

"Y-Your medicine is on the table..." I reminded him, my voice trailing off. Something felt off, somehow. I wonder what he said in Russian? I sat on the floor for a while, waiting until I heard no sounds from the living room, before safely concluding that he had fallen asleep either on the couch or standing up. Pushing the bedroom door open wider, I peeked through the cracks to find him curled up on the couch, fast asleep.

Creeping out of the room, I settled down on the floor beside the couch, just in case he had another nightmare. Eventually, I felt my own breathing slow, and my eyelids flickered shut.

~Time Skip~

"Wake up. Y/N. Wake up. It's Viktor." I shot up at the mention of Viktor, immediately awake. "Gosh dammit." I heard someone curse when my head collided with theirs. I rubbed my eyes, my blurry surroundings slowly coming into focus. Somehow I had ended up in my room, even though I clearly remembered falling asleep in the living room.

"Where's Viktor?" I asked the blonde excitedly. Yuri gave me a weird look, an unreadable expression on his face. "Why are you so excited at the mention of Viktor? Oh and, that's a lie... I just wanted to get you to wake up." He rubbed his neck sheepishly, turning away from me. My shoulders slumped in disappointment, but I could swear, when Yuri stood up, there was sadness in his emerald green orbs.

I stood up after he left the room, grabbing my phone from the bedside table and going through my messages. I stopped at Viktor's contact, realising that he had sent a message, so technically Yuri hadn't lied to me after all.
The small smile that was plastered on my face soon disappeared when I read the message. I pushed my bedroom door open, looking around for Yuri. He was sitting on the couch, his face in his hands, a tired look on his face.

"Oh! I forgot to ask you... are you feeling better?" I questioned kindly, leaning down and placing my hand on his forehead. He looked up at me, a cold mask covering up his exhaustion in an instant. I half expected him to push me away again, but he didn't. Instead, tears started gathering in his eyes despite the fact that his face still remained emotionless. I felt temporary relief when his temperature had relatively dropped.

"I-I'm fine." He broke the silence, pulling away from me to brush the tears away. I sat down next to him, hugging him from the side. He let out a strangled sob, burying his head into my shoulder. I felt the fabric getting wet but I didn't complain, tightening my grip around his trembling body. I stroked his back gently, trying my best to offer him the comfort that he needed.

After a while, he calmed down, even though his head still remained where it was. "I'm sorry," he mumbled. "This is so unprofessional." My hand stilled, resting on his back. "You don't need to apologise, Yuri. Everyone breaks sometimes." I Whisper. Yuri pulled away, taking in deep breaths to stop the tears from flowing down his face.
