THE PHEONIX WILL RISE
There is no greater achievement in life
Than to stand back up after you’ve been knocked down
Your wounds are deep, but not created by a surgeon’s knife
You are unhappy, yet you smile for others and refuse to frown.
You’re stronger than you could ever envisage
Determined, courageous, still standing, so brave
But you still insist that you are timid
Isn’t it a miracle to survive when you are so afraid?
If only you could understand what others see
Every time that they look at you
You are a far better person than I could ever be
All the turmoil that you’ve been through.
Only you can know the truth
Of the daily hell that life puts on you
I know you had a misspent youth
But the respect you have, hell, if you only knew.
So many times you’ve been knocked to the floor
Bloodied and broken, so sad and depressed
Each time you have rallied and taken on more
Understand that to know you is to be truly blessed.
It’s those that disrespect you that are ugly inside
They have the problem, they are filth in my eyes
Don’t put yourself down, you have no reason to hide
You are a phoenix, and from the fire you will rise.
