IF LIFE WAS EASY
If life was easy how would we know when we’d had success, improved on yesterday or been truly blessed?
Life is hard for a reason, and all tribulations must be firmly addressed
We are put on this earth to learn wisdom, and for some it’s a terrible test
Trials and worries are sent to teach us, so think hard when you’re sad and depressed
When others appear to be blooming, keep your envy close to your chest
As jealousy will burn and deceive you, churning anger and bitterness in your breast
Be happy for others who are achieving, they may not always be so fortunately blessed
And when things become too overwhelming, try not to sigh sadly and protest
We all have our skeletons and demons, and fear can make you ill and obsessed
Each new day is a gift and a blessing, not to be treated as an ill-advised contest
So start each day with thanksgiving, be happy and full of new zest
Be grateful for each hardship you suffer, when it’s over let your joy be expressed
And take time for your rest, play and pleasure and begin each morning refreshed
Because if life was easy, how would we know when we’d had success, improved on yesterday or been truly blessed?
