TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES
She felt her hand so warm in his
Cushioned by his love, it felt like bliss
Finger locked, such comfort and hope
For a happy future where nothing is broke
His eyes so blue, crinkled in mirth
She wouldn’t wish to be anywhere else on earth
Each and every day a bright new beginning
No fear of failure, their journey is thrilling
Side by side and standing proud
Their love and devotion clear and loud
She trembles slightly as she turns her face
Eager and keen for his fond embrace
Soft lips brush a mouth so familiar
He’ll treasure her completely, come summer and winter
Oh how I wish for a love such as this
How wonderfully dear to see such a passionate kiss
It transcends age, troubles and death
And will last past the time they take their last breath
So Grandpa and Granny have been together 60 years
And to see them together brings me to tears
Their love for each other gets stronger each day
I’m speechless, dumbfounded have nothing to say
We love them so dearly, their spirits still strong
I laugh as they dance to their favourite song
May they live long and prosper, together side by side
Like they say in the movies….
True love never dies.
