THE POWER OF WORDS

Isn’t it amazing the power of words?

How just a simple sentence can lift or crush a soul

Life would be so different if only gentleness was heard

And spite was banned for human kind, or anything slightly foul

Soft words of love can soothe and calm a fractious crying infant

While criticism can squash and drown the best of joyful spirits

Being kind to all you meet takes trouble and commitment

As for some it is a great fun to test you to your limits

Words of love can heal the heart, and wisdom fix the world

So surely each and every day we should strive to mend not break

And every kindness we received we’d make sure we returned

The power of words would bring such joy when true instead of fake.
