HAPPINESS
Happiness is a precious gift that is becoming increasingly rare
It’s almost as if these days it’s a luxury or even a dare
When the world that we live in is troubled and dying
Wouldn’t it be better if we were solemn and sighing?
While some people suffer in famine and pain
It's wrong that the rich ones are drinking champagne
It would be fairer if health and wellbeing were shared
And the rich and the prominent showed that they cared
And we’d all be rewarded by helping our neighbours
Life would be enhanced by handing out favours
Satisfaction in saving our planet and its gifts
War would be prevented by healing all rifts
Smiling would be compulsory, and a ban on all strife
And our happiness ensured by good health and long life.
