I AM STRONG
For years I believed I had failed and was weak
That this wretched illness had me broken and beat
But I was wrong
I am strong
Depression had dragged me down to my knees
Begging and pleading for an end and release
Madness crept through me, enslaving my mind
To the needs of all others my soul became blind
Trapped in insanity and lost to the world
There was no escaping the dark and its hold
But still I am standing, a survivor, not weak
I am strong
Remember
I chose life, not defeat.
