Can we start all over with a simple 'hi',
Can we all go back and just rewind
I want to walk up to you and tell you my name,
I want to begin all over again with that same old game
I want you to smile and talk to me like before,
I want to stitch together the heart that you once tore
I want to be normal for once in my life,
And start out simple with a single worded 'hi'
I want to come out cheery and bubble with joy,
I'll work on first impressions, my perfection I'll deploy
I want this to be the starting of a new story,
I want us to rejoice in all of our glories
Can we forget about all that's come and gone,
We'll be new people with arrival of dawn
New day, fresh start and it's time to tie the knot,
Let's reignite this friendship, we'll love with all we've got
As the dawn rises, as red as ever,
Our 'hi's will be the first words I will always remember
As I muster up the courage and twirl my hair about,
I look in your direction and walk my way out
Just when I think I should turn around and run,
A 'hi' comes out of nowhere and a new day has begun.
