Who Is This Girl

When I look at my reflection, all I see,
Is a vulnerable little girl who happens to be me
Her eyes are red and her hair is a mess,
Her hands are shaking as she deals with the stress
Her lips are quivering, trembling with fear,
As she trails over the memories that are all too clear

Who is this girl that I don't know,
Is she the one with emotions that won't show?
I don't recognize the face staring back at me,
After all this time there's nothing left to see
She's got nothing left of her spirit inside,
No depth, no layers, no secrets left to hide
Exposed to the depression that envelops her heart,
She stands waiting for the blow that will tear her apart

Her features are like scars etched on to her face,
She cares about the judgement, what the world says
If the land were her abode, her inner self she'd display,
She'd be happy to be free of her thought spirals one day
If there was no such thing as opinion, no words left to spill
Nothing left to damage the cup half filled

Who is this girl that I see,
Staring wide- eyed back at me
Her clothes are rags and her skin is pale,
She is miserable, she knows she has failed
There's nothing left of the girl I knew,
The one who could bring back the time that flew

No more smiles and no more cheer,
All has been replaced by the darkness and tears
The rainbows are now misty grey skies,
No more hellos just empty goodbyes
No room for excitement, no more sunny days,
Because the girl I knew will no longer stay.

Have you ever felt that you've changed so much that you don't even recognize yourself anymore? When you see yourself in the mirror, the only thing you can think of is 'I don't know who I am anymore'?

That happens to all of us. We all have this extreme mood upliftment or downfall that can change our ways of thinking forever... This makes you feel like you're nothing, irrelevant in the bigger picture the world creates. No longer an additive shade for the contribution of a masterpiece. But that's just how human emotions work. You have to get ahold of yourself and be reminded of all the times that have come and gone and just remain there suspended at the cliff of insanity. You'll make it out. You'll be okay. Soon that unrecognizable face will become more yours than any other face you've seen in that mirror. Soon those emotions will just be building blocks to your mind.
Soon you'll have clarity.
