No amount of fake happiness can cause me to believe,
That every single thing you do is really just for me
Every smile and every laugh that you decided to fake,
Just to cure another heart of the pain intake
No amount of fake giddiness can cause me to believe,
That every single squeal of excitement was done just for me
To evaporate my sorrows and my pain away was your only intent,
But here I am needless to say that what they thought was not what you meant
All you've ever been to me is a make-up artist in disguise,
Always trying to morph my scowls into toothy grins and smiles
One swish of a brush and the tears have vanished,
A touch of mascara and the  problem is managed
Apply some lipstick and there's a million dollar smile,
A touch of blush and no more puffy red styles
Gone are the cracks and the dents on the surface,
Make-up really has a different purpose
Like a model you'd dress me up every day,
Changing my moods each and every way
All you've ever been to me is a make-up artist in disguise,
You've replaced all the tears with award-winning smiles.
