I know that I am dead, but I'm feeling so alive,
I want to keep on swimming and take a deeper dive
I'm feeling on top of the world and I think I forgot how to breathe,
It's starting just about perfect though I don't know how it'll lead
Looking down at the city lights, staring from up above,
Knowing that any minute we'd be caught and leave the world we loved
Holding on when I felt dizzy staring, thousands of feet below,
My heart beating ten times faster, but my frenzied emotions I won't show
I know that this is the end, there's no more scope for light,
No more daytime adventures and rebellion in the night
This is the part when I should feel downcast and have a loss for words,
But instead all I'm feeling is a fleeting emotion I call 'On Top of the World'.
