Growing Apart

I feel your presence slipping away,
Getting farther and farther with every day
It's like I don't know you, it's like we never met,
It's like you've moved on, you chose to forget
It's not like there's a reason for us drifting apart,
Just that the world no longer sees us as twin hearts
Your eyes remain wistful when they mention my name,
But both of us know it'll never be the same
Though we know that this clearly isn't the end,
We no longer will be the exact same friends
Slowly I feel you slipping away,
I wish you'd come back, I wish you would stay
I will still talk to you and you'll still smile,
Together we'll lose all track of time
But before when I talked to you I'd pour out my heart,
But this time I know that we've drifted apart.

Do you wish you could just go back and relive memories just to reunite with the people who crafted your past? Do you wish you could just run back and rectify your actions in order to bring back that one person who meant so much to you?
Maybe you still can. It's never too late to resurface what was undying love.
You'll never know if you don't try.
