Why don't people ask you before they step on your dreams,
Why don't they inform you so it's easier than it seems

Why don't people warn you when they're coming for a fight,
At least then you'll have a chance to prove that you are right

Why don't people empathise and try to listen to you,
Why don't people understand what you are going through

Why don't people clarify before they take a step,
Before jumping to conclusions, they can tell you what's coming next

Why don't people make it easier for you to just move on,
Why does everything complicate when the instance is long gone

Why don't people stop and think before they they go and betray,
Why don't people notice the impacts of the words they say

Why don't people try to see through the doll face that you plaster,
Why don't people even care when they have caused disaster

Why can't people be open books and just be nice and friendly,
Why are they so stereotypical, powerful and deadly

Why can't people ever love you just for who you are,
No matter how much you try and try you'll never be their star

Why don't people talk to your face instead of behind your back,
Why can't people remember your perks instead of the perfection you lack

Why can't people be your lighthouse in the dark, a force on which you depend,
Instead they're spirits I will always fear, like the monsters under my bed

Here I remain shivering, just thinking of the world outside,
Thinking of the people and their venomous words, inside my head I'll hide.
