Your P.O.V
"Y/N. Trust me I've tried to break those two up. It doesn't work." Rick said, following you into the kitchen. You huffed. "That's because you've never used a women's touch." You pulled out a piece of paper and slapped it onto the counter. "I've come up a good 75 reasons for Beth to break up with Jerry, all in alphabetical order. If we can just get her to read the list then I'm sure she'll leave that soggy sack of a man for good." Rick shook his head. "Already tried it... twice. Once in alphabetical order and once not." Your eyes scanned the paper. "Well did you say Jerry was a wimp who doesn't wash his hands with enough soap?" Rick scoffed. "When he washes his hands. Anyway, I already tried that one. Then I got a lecture about how my dissections weren't 'sanitary' or 'humane' enough." Rick made the quotation signs with his hands.
You shrugged and mumbled quietly. "She might of had a point on that one." Rick didn't hear you. Instead, he opened up the kitchen cabinet and grabbed a box of eye holes and began to stuff his face. "Believe me Y/N. If I couldn't do it, no one could." You placed your hands on the counter and sighed. "So what do you suggest?" Rick swallowed his food loudly. The cabinet creaked softly as he placed the eye holes back out of sight. Tapping his chin, he thought for a moment in silence. "Well maybe we're just approaching the idea wrong. Perhaps Beth simply needs another women to point out Jerry's clear indifferences." You shrugged. "That could work. She always did like me more." Rick leaned back, offended. "I beg to differ." He said jokingly. You laughed. It comforted you to see the Rick you fell in love with still existed, even if he was way older. "Yea. Because she totally likes you more than her own mother." Rick opened up his arms, gesturing to himself. "What can I say? I'm a great guy!"
In the other room the sliding door opened and Beth stormed in, Jerry right behind her. You quickly stuffed the list of Jerry comments into your pocket and stared at the entrance to the living room with Rick, watching tensely. You looked at your husband for a moment before loud, stomping footsteps made their way into the kitchen. "Beth please no-". You heard Jerry plead quietly as she approached you. "Moooommm." Beth said, pushing Jerry's head away from hers. "Jerry and I would like to invite you to dinner tonight. RIGHT Jerry?" She said, voice dangerously low. Jerry laughed nervously. "Y-yes dear. A-absolutely!" You smiled at your daughter. "Oh course! What time?" Beth thought a moment. "How about 6?" You nodded. Beth smiled then, taking Jerry by the color of the shirt, dragged him out of the room.
You continued to smile as you watched Beth drag Jerry out of the room and down the hall, out of sight. Then you turned to Rick and grinned. "This is perfect!" You hissed quietly. "Now I can humiliate the man in public and with his wife!" Rick shrugged. "Eh. I'm sure neither will be surprised to discover what a failure he is." You glanced at the clock. It was only 4:30. "Well we still got some time to kill. Wanna plan out Jerry's demise?" You asked you husband. Rick gestured down the hall. "Then perhaps we shall make our way to my room, my lady?" You rolled your eyes. "You mean your walk in closet?" Rick stared at you, in suprise. "How did you know that?" You gave a small smile. "I have my ways."
The two of you walked down the hall. Opening the door to his room, Rick ushered you in. "Ladies first." You smiled and stepped in, nose instantly twitching irritably as you processed the smell of the room. You glanced cautiously as a small decaying creature in the corner. "I really hope that's a rat." You said to him. Rick pushed a pile of paperwork off his small, rickety bed and sat down. Rick crossed him arms then his legs. "Probably." You wandered around the room for a few moments. There were blueprints covering the walls for all sorts of inventions. Gravity shoes, a remodeled version of the dimension gun, some sort of cryogenic chamber. You squinted at the writing on the last blueprint. "What's this say about preserving a human specimen?" Rick shrugged. "Just some old science stuff. What are we going to do about Jerry thought? You have a plan?"
You turned away from the blueprint. "You think you can design something for me?" Rick leaned forward. "You know it baby. What do you want?" You smirked and leaned against the wall, warms crossed. "You think you can made a electronically activated barf pill?" Rick stared in silence for a moment before he erupted in laughter, clutching his sides and kicking his legs like a child. "Oh Y/N! I've m-missed you so much!" You raised an eyebrow. "You'll do it then?" Rick took a swig form his container and burped. "You bet!" I'll get to work on it now. Rick stood up and cracked his back. Opening the door, the two of you came face to face with Summer."Hey Summer!" You said, smiling at your granddaughter. She gave a nervous smile. Holding her hands behind her back, she looked from you to her shoe. "I heard from my mom that you were going to dinner with her and Jerry tonight and I was wondering if... um...". Summer quickly looked up from her shoe and into your eyes. Clenching her fists at her side she spoke rather loudly. "Um... Can I help you get ready!?!" You smiled. "Of course!" You placed your hand on her shoulder. "I put my fashion in your hands." Summer's face glowed with excitement. Taking your hand, she began to drag you towards the front door. "Oh I saw the perfect dress for you the other day at the mall. It would look so cute! Oh then I can do your makeup! Not that you don't look good enough already it's just I have this really cute way to do eyeliner that I think would look fabulous on you..."
You tuned the teenager out for a moment and thought over your plan. Any second thoughts about the morality about the plan were immediately crushed when you spotted Jerry on the couch. "Dad! Grandma Y/N and I are going shopping!" Beth stuck her head out of the kitchen where she was enjoying a glass of wine. Summer turned to her mother. "Mom? Is it ok if I get Grandma Y/N this really pretty dress I saw at the mall?" Beth nodded, looking into your eyes. "Absolutely." Then she turned to Summer and added sternly. "But don't overspend." Summer nodded. "You got it!" Just before you left, you glanced back at Rick. He was standing at the doorway just outside his room. "We'll be back soon!" You called over your shoulder. Rick gave you a thumbs up then, taking a swig of his canteen, he walked into the garage and closed the door.
