Jerry's P.O.V

"Sweetie? I'm going out with the kids for a little Father's Day Adventure."  Jerry leaned next to the entrance of the living room, listening to Rick.  "Well did you check with Jerry?"  Beth replied.  Morty, Summer, and Rick spoke in unison.  "Yes."  "Oh yea its fine."  "All clear!"  Jerry narrowed his eyes.  No one had spoken to him about this.  His kids were ditching him on Father's Day to hang out with a man who was barely even a father.  "Why you little...". Jerry mumbled under his breath.

Peeking his head around the corner, Jerry saw Rick and the kids begin to turn in his direction and he quickly ran into the kitchen and frantically began to 'make' coffee.  He watched as the three walked by, saying goodbye to Beth.  As Jerry stared at his children, Morty seemed to sense his presence and looked up to lock eyes.  Going over to the doorway, Morty spoke.  "H-hey me and Summer are going to go hang out with Grandpa Rick for a while.  Ya know... a day in the town."  Jerry looked spiteful.  "Oh yea sure that's fine."  Then mumbled.  "Not like you'd spend Father's Day with you actual father...". Morty grinned.  "Ok thanks dad!"  He said, running off.  A second later Jerry heard the door open and the three voices fade to nearly inaudible mumbling then disappearing all together.

Oh corse, normally, Jerry would have forced himself into following Rick and the kids all day.  After all, his kids should have really been hanging out with him all day.  "Stupid Rick.  Getting gift for father's day.  Ha!  Barely even a father and he gets more gifts than me.  Better ones too!" Instead they had just given him a shoddily wrapped mug and clip-on tie.  No doubt whatever Morty had handed Rick at breakfast was 10 times cooler than that.  And in that moment Jerry came up with an idea.  A awful, awful idea.  His face crinkled up into a hideous smile.  "Simple.  I'll just take Rick's gift from him.  Old man probably won't remember where he put it anyway!"  Jerry leaned over a coffee mug, laughing.

At first the laughter was more of an evil chuckle but then quickly evolved into a full-blown supervillian laugh.  "MUAHAHAHAHAH!"  Jerry raised the palms of his hands and his face so it faced towards the ceiling with his arms outstretched.  Beth, on her way upstairs passed by the door way.  "Oh grow up Jerry."  She said flatly.  Jerry stopped laughing and listened for her footsteps, waiting until she was at the top of the stairs before wringing his hands and chuckling one last time.

Making sure Beth and Y/N were nowhere near, Jerry snuck over to the entrance of HIS garage, aka Rick's 'lab', and opened the door.  Sliding in, Jerry closed the door with a click and looked around.  "Now where did you put it?"  Jerry mumbled, bending down and looking on the shelf next to him.  But nothing was to be found.  Jerry frowned and looked at the closed cabinets across the room.  Walking over, Jerry opened the first cabinet to be met with a loud hiss.  The cabinet slammed shut as the now wide-eyed Jerry moved on to the next cabinet.  Here, Jerry came across quite a number of devices.  Taking them out and placing them on the edge of the counter, Jerry reached him arm far back into the dark void, pulling out all sorts of Knick-knacks.   He couldn't recognize a singe thing.

Finally, after a bit more shuffling around, Jerry felt the familiar feeling of wrapping paper and triumphivly pulled out the small box, still unwrapped.  Grinning,  Jerry fist punched the air.  "Alright!"  Jerry cheered excitedly.  However, before he could continue cheering, Jerry froze to the sound of Beth's voice calling him name.  Quickly, Jerry grabbed the items covering the counter and began pushing them back into the cabinet.  Finally, grabbing the small gift, Jerry slammed the cabinet door closed and opened the garage, desperately looking for a place to hide Rick's present.  However, while closing the garage door, Jerry failed to notice the cabinet door open slowly and the shatter of glass echo in the room.
