When Newt Doesn't Want A Sad Storyline Anymore

It has been months since you had been submitted to the hospital and one week since he had met with Jacob at the diner.

You were lying in his arms resting but Newt was unable to sleep due to the howling wind beyond the window. He could hear the rain beating against the thin walls of the hospital, a place he couldn't wait for you to leave. It was time that you came home.

His mind was restless, not just because of the rain but also due to his constant worry about how fragile you were.

He was undeniably grateful to have your presence nearby, yet he feel so far away from you. Your relationship unstable since the "incident".

He had spoken to Doctor Watson (your therapist) about how to comfort you as and when you wanted Newt's sympathies. The doctor had instead asked the auburn-haired male what he did, when in need of comfort and support? Newt's answer?

He found solace in you. Just you, being...you. From your laugh to your smile, to you sense of humour to the curves and indents of your body- being around you helped keep him grounded when it all became too much.

Newt considered the idea that you prehaps found a comfort in him too. You needed to feel loved, so that's what he was going to do. He was going to love you until all the hurt and pain had vanished from your mind. You both may have been broken but maybe he would be the one who to fix you.

As you lay in his arms, Newt realised that he was determined to make sure that you never ended up in hospital again. That he would never have to visit you there again. Your husband hated hospitals and was sure you did too.

You subconsciously wrapped your arms around his muscular frame, and leant your head on his shoulder,

As he kissed your temple, he allowed for his lips to linger for a moment before he pulled away. "I am going to be the one to heal us both, (y/n). I promise we'll no longer be broken. I promise."

You remained asleep, unaware of his promise but it didn't matter whether you heard him or not. He meant every word...
