CHAPTER 10

DREW

Well, I'm fucken starving, and it ain't for food. I wonder if I can get P.C, our computer tech guy to get her number.

I can't believe I'm going on this run, 2 days away with Knight, fuck I love my brother's but he just fucks himself into trouble.

We're on our way down to Albany which is a 2 and half hour ride south.

And all I can think of is Stasia, wondering what she's doing today, she'll be back at work tomorrow on light duties. Which I'm not happy about

but I can't say shit ... she's not mine.... Yet!, yes yet cause I'm on my way to making it happen it's just going to take time.

I know something is there, in the dark of her mind for one, after that nightmare in the hospital, that was my first clue,  then the way she tries to stay

invisible, so no one notices her,  but she will put others before her, it's like her life is less, unworthy even. Something tells me once I get her trust,

she'll be mine for good!  which is the plan.

I don't know when this all

happened, but I'm not fighting it... I've played plenty in my time, enough to know a good thing when it's there.

Good thing I got her number off  P.C,   I'm going to text her as soon

as we pull over at the servo up the road.

There's 5 of us on this run 4 on bikes me, Knight, Nova, Cory and Tommy. Tommy's driving the van

for the swap we have drugs to swap with guns. It's  the last of our illegal deals, which this is supposed to be the last run, but something is making me nervous about it.

I'm in charge seeing as I'm in training for

dads position, which has been the story for the last 5 years, which will be soon. But I get to do the big stuff and I'm trusted.

Looking up ahead I see the servo coming into sight,  I give the hand signal to make sure they're all aware we're stopping.

Looking around, everyone is filling up I take the moment to walk out of view so I can shoot off a text

ME: Hey beautiful it's Drew, just checking in I'm out of town for a couple of days. Save this number and text me whenever.

After it's sent  I go to use the wash room. the guys are hungry so we grab some pies, then sit out on the picnic table. We run through what's going to happen, feeling my phone vibrate I grab my rubbish then walk to the bin, pulling out my phone I see it's from my girl

MY GIRL: hey :) I'm gd. And how'd u get my number I knw Soph wouldn't do that ??? ;p

ME: I have my ways of getting what I want ;) a little birdy told me your working tomorrow?

MY GIRL: is this the same little birdy that gave u my number? And yes light duties .. can't wait!

.

ME: maybe!! Well, take it easy, please!

MY GIRL: ohh does the big bad biker worry about me !!

oh, I see my girl has a mouth when it's not face to face.

ME: maybe!

Let's see if she will open up a little.

MY GIRL: maybe!  that's not an answer ??

ME: Well what sort of answer u want?

MY GIRL: mmm I'm not sure but...

ME: girl u can tell me anything. I want you to tell me everything!
