STASIA
Waking up in a cold sweat, my heart is nearly pounding out of my
chest. I look around the room I'm stunned at first thinking how could he
find me... sitting up I realize that I'm in my new room at Sophie's
house, with that I try to control my breathing, in through my nose out
through my mouth...over and over. Ventrally my heart starts to slow. I
can't get rid of the smell and his touch on my skin. I need a shower now!
So I go to the bathroom. Turn on the shower then get in I scrub like crazy.
I need to get him off me, I haven't felt like this in
years.
After washing myself for the hundredth time, I fall in a heap
at the bottom of the shower and just cry.
I cry for what I was.
I cry for what he did.
I cry for my escape and I cry for my new life!
By the
time I get out, I'm frozen. The water ran cold ages ago.
I'm just getting into bed when Soph knocks at my door "come in" she enters cautiously,
"Hey you ok, I heard the shower"
me knowing Soph so well, I know she heard me crying, so I just nod and tell her,
"yeah all good just a nightmare"
nodding at me she comes and sits on the bed
"Want me to stay" thinking about it I still feel raw so I nod.
"scoot over girlfriend and don't hog the blankets"
she's smiling at me. I'm so relieved that she's not pushing to talk cause it's too raw
right now. snuggling in together, I'm a sleep in no time.
I wake to a noise I can't quite figure out what, rubbing my face with
my hands I realize it's my phone reaching for it I answer without
seeing the display "hello"
"Did I wake you beautiful, you sound like you just woke up"
"Yeah, I did. Sorry, Whats up." Rubbing my face again then trying to
sit up, drew starts his question. "Just want to know what you Soph an
Keata are up to this Saturday" searching my mind I can't think of any thing
"Nothing I can think of, but my brain's not working yet, so can I get back to you, I'll check with Soph too, cause pretty sure they do the park now I think of it"
"Ok. Well we have a family bbq this Saturday"
after a moment of silents, he continues
"I'd really like you there to met my brothers"
"ohh, ok so just me then..."
"No, I want you comfortable. so bring Soph and Keata, it's always fun there are some other kids at the club so Keata will be cool"
"yeah....no Keata will stay by us she doesn't venture much, you'll see!"
"Stasia, when's the last time you went out?"
Ooh ok. Little does he know I don't go out,
never at all, Soph and I might have a get together at her house, or I'll let Soph go out for the night with her friends. But for me, no!
"I can't remember but I really don't like going out Drew it's just something I've never liked much" hoping he doesn't ask anything else, I
go on with
"so if we are available what do we bring"
smiling at my negotiations skills he answers,
"nothing just yourselves. Well I'm
going to make sure you all have a great time. Ok"
"Yeah that would be good I'm looking forward to it"
"Good, you working today"
"Yeah, I'm on afternoons today, Soph left early."
"you driving"
"Well, how else would I get there!"
"smart-ass, you have been known to walk before!"
"well yes I have Mr biker man but it seems it's a bit too far now so I drive"
"Can I drive you, miss hit the dirt, I would like some time with you."
Wow, what's a girl gunner say to that? I can't believe he wants to
drive me biting my bottom lip I reply,
"umm yeah. I mean yes, is that ok."
"Yeah beautiful it is I'll be there in an hour, ok"
"WAIT, WHAT..." looking at my phone at the time I see it's way later than I thought.
"Shit I gotta go, see you soon ok"
"Yeah babe I'll see you soon" with that the phone goes click and I'm
still got this stupid smile on my face then my phone vibrates and it's him.
BIKER BOY: get moving girl you're going to be late;)
Laughing out loud I run to get in the shower and get ready as quick as possible.
Exactly an hour later, there's a knock at the door. Excitement running through my body, I run to the door...ok.....I have socks on and.....yes the floor
is shiny floor boards. .. sooo no one should be surprised when I go
sliding across the floor stumbling over my own feet and just as I'm about to reach the door I fall to my knees and then I fall forward ...
Now I should not have hit anything so when I hit the door nob I'm a bit
dumbfounded to why but I don't get time to think on it cause blackness takes me fast.....
"Stasia.... Honey... wake up babe..."
ooh god my eye it kills
"what the...."
Groaning I try to sit up, but hands are holding me firmly down and I
start to panic first my breathing picks up fast and short then I start to shake uncontrollably.
It's hard, my heart is telling me I'm safe but
my brain is short circuiting trying to get up and get away... I hear Drew trying to settle me, it's only then I slowly start to calm.
I feel his hand stroking my hair softly gentle then he says gently,
"Babe I'm so sorry, I heard the bang and I just came right in shoving the door open."
with that, my brain kicks into what happened ...shit.
Feeling Drew pick me up and put me on the couch I try to open my eyes. One's fine
but the other isn't double shit. He begins to leave "Where you going"
"Just getting ice babe" oh god... yes ice will be good ahh shit. He's
back with some ice before I realize it, covered in a towel he places it
on my eye. "Arrh shit"
"Shhh, it's ok beautiful. fuck I'm sorry, you want some pain meds anything ?"
"Nah I'm fine, shit that all happened so fast not good, not good"
I think I said that all out loud. Then I hear him chuckle at me.
"Babe I don't think you're going into work. Who can I ring for you?."
omg, Joan is going to kill me.
" Use my phone. ring Joan tell her what
happened, I'm not on till Monday now, so I should be ok by then ..... thanks"
he walks off to make the phone call. I get comfy on the couch, cause I don't want to move my head. It's killing me... shit how embarrassing.
When he walks back in he tells me all sorted. Then he sits down next to me grabs the ice pack off me, then puts my head on his lap then ice pack
on my eye, groaning I start to tell him I'll be fine but he cuts me off
"Stasia, don't start, I'm staying unless something important comes up. Now lay back a relax and I'll try put a movie, on up to you"
"movie it is, but I don't care what... use that control next to you, the hard drive has plenty of movies on it".
