“Aren’t you coming down for breakfast?” I received a text message from Zayn early in the morning which woke me up. In fact, it was nowhere near early. It was five minutes past ten.

Sheesh. Breakfast would be over in fifty minutes if I don’t hurry.

As I rose up from the bed, I felt a surging pain on my back. Oh no. Please don’t tell me it is what I think it to be.

A girl’s monthly night mare.

I forgot it was due today. And it always arrive with a bang – yeah, a bang on my back. No change after five years. Mom told me it would get better when I have children next time but I seriously doubt I could survive that long.

First, I had to drag myself out of the bed and clean up the mess. Thank goodness, the sheets were still clean. That was one problem less for me. I figured it would take me at least half an hour before I was ready to get out of my room. Looks like I have to give breakfast a miss. Besides, there’s always no appetite when my period was here.

“No, too tired.” I replied to Zayn’s text. It was partially true. I returned to the room rather late. Talking with Colin took up the entire evening, but it was fulfilling. It had somehow pulled us together – of course, not in the romantic sense. The boys were still not back yet when I knocked out in my bed. I wondered what time they came back.

“I’ll bring some up for you.” Zayn’s message came back.

Oh no. He better not. I’m not fit to see anybody in this state!

“It’s okay, I’m not hungry. I’ll just grab an early lunch.”

“I’m on my way.”

Damn. This guy is …

I skipped my way to the bathroom grabbing a change of clothes.

I was just about done when the door bell rang. He actually took longer than I expected – perhaps he figured a girl would need some dressing up time.

“Morning!” He greeted me with his usual sexy smile.

“Morning,” I murmured as I let him in.

“What did you do last night to make you so tired?” He chuckled.

As he walked past me to place the plate of salad which he had brought up, I could smell a faint odour of cigarette smoke on him.

“You were out smoking?” I asked.

He grinned sheepishly, “Couldn’t resist it.”

I raised an eyebrow at him, “I thought you’ve quit.”

He shrugged easily, “Breakfast.” He pushed the fork and knife into my hands which I took. “So, what did you do last night?”

“Nothing.”
