The loud applause filled the entire hall as we joined our hands cheering together with crowd.

"Encore, encore!" I shouted as I rose to my feet and clapped enthusiastically.

The boys looked at me with amused faces.

“What’s that instrument that tall guy was playing? Gong?” Niall asked, raising his voice to make himself heard over the applause.

I nodded. “Yes. Gong. Or you can call it a tam-tam.”

“How old are these guys?” Harry asked.

“I’m not sure,” I replied before I took up the evening’s programme booklet. “Fifteen. Sixteen, maybe? They are secondary school kids.”

“Where are they from?” Liam asked as he tried to peer over my arm to look at the booklet.

“Germany.”

The audience gave another round of applause before the band members took their dismissal from the stage.

“The xylophonist is so awesome!” I exclaimed as I searched him out among the percussionists.

“Which one?” Zayn asked.

I pointed to a tall guy on stage who was carrying a pair of crash cymbals, “There!”

“Impressive,” Liam agreed.

The young German played the entire Chopin’s Fantasie-Impromptu Op.66 on the marimba and vibraphone. Even Felicity, our best mallet player could not play as well.

“What’s up next?” Harry asked.

I took a look at the booklet again, “A Junior College band from Singapore.”

“Are you staying?” Louis stifled a yawn. “Sorry, it’s not that they are not interesting but I’m a little tired.”

“I am staying,” I said firmly. “You guys can return to the hotel first. I know my way back.”

The boys exchanged looks.

“Sorry Jo, I’m heading back,” Niall stood up. “There’s more tomorrow night, right?”

“Yeah.”

“My eyes are almost closed,” Harry admitted. “I think I’ll head back too. Li? Zayn?”

Liam shot Zayn a look before looking at the rest. “Guess I should be heading back too.”

“I’ll stay,” Zayn said softly.

“It’s okay,” I looked at Zayn. “Go back if you are tired. I can look for Colin. I think he’s somewhere around.”

“He’s gone,” Niall pointed out. “I saw him left just now.”

Strange. I thought Colin was interested in wind bands...

“Oh.”

“I’m fine,” Zayn said.
