POV: (Sloane)

"I'll be waiting for you at Cat and Mouse," Dimitri's voice coiled around me through the phone I held to my ear.

"Seriously? I don't want to go to your S&M club, Dimitri." It had been a draining day and since I'd forgotten to grab blood bags from the Coven, I'd had to ask Jared for a donation. Talk about uncomfortable. Even that little bit seemed to fall into an endless black hole inside me. Thankfully I hadn't gone into bloodlust.

"Then you will have to wait until tomorrow to have our meeting," he said smugly. Dimitri had been all but avoiding me since I told him that I wanted to discuss taking photo data on all the vampires but he'd disagreed. We were supposed to meet to talk about other options. I also had ultierer motives. Since Vampires lived long lives I was guessing one of them probably new Old Norse and maybe I could get more answers about what these texts and scrolls actually said. I figured an S&M club wasn't the best setting for questions and answers.

"That's not going to work. I need to see you tonight," the exasperation was clear enough in my voice.

"Then I will see you in a half an hour at my Club." Before I could argue him out of our meeting spot he'd hung up. It was so frustrating with these dominant and master Supe's always expecting obedience. I'd have to show up though even if I wasn't happy about it.

I pulled up outside of the club called Cat and Mouse as rain steadily drenched my windshield. There was a long line of people leaning against the wall near the doors to the club. People who wore all kinds of different clothes stood either dripping in the rain or hidden beneath umbrellas. Occasionally a few people looked perfectly normal albeit uncomfortable with shifty eyes and probably wondering what the hell they were doing there. I'd chosen to dress up in clothes that would blend with this crowd.

My pants were a pleather that fit like a glove but felt soft like cashmere instead of making a squeaking noise everytime my legs rubbed together, being a mage had it's upsides. The shirt under my black sweatshirt was really more like straps made in the shape of a tube top. It covered and pushed up my boobs almost in offering but the straps continued to wrap around my torso and along my thighs. The straps on my thighs had silver chains attached to it making it seem similar to a chain link fence pattern. I'd opted for knee high black boots with a heel that wouldn't break my neck but something I had custom made with silver inlaced just incase I kicked another Supe. My hair was braided in two french braids that Celise had braided silver wire through. If I ran out of weapons I could use the wire to deal damage.

My wrist sheaths were snug against my skin underneath the sweatshirt but I hadn't added anything else since it would insinuate that the Master Vampire couldn't protect me. Seeing as how I was his guest. When I walked towards the doors to Cat and Mouse I could see the light spattering of silver glitter that Celise had demanded I brush across my high cheekbones, as they caught the street lights.

"You need to wait at the end of the line like everyone else," a human bouncer spoke as he glanced up from his clipboard. He looked like a stereotypical bouncer with black glasses, even though it was dark out, and a curly ear piece that was plugged into his ear to listen to orders.

"I'm here to speak with Dimitri," I tried to keep the frustration out of my voice. Even though he had told me to meet him here you'd think he would warn his people working the front.

"Don't care who you're meeting here. I say you go to the end of the line." He'd turned his back on me as someone else walked up to give their name. Once he found their name on the list he allowed them through.

When I was about to say something else to this human, a Shapeshifter of some flavor walked up. She looked at me and gestured her head to the dark doorway. "He's waiting for you inside. Don't worry Steve, our Boss is the one she's supposed to be meeting."
