Everyone paused as the coach ran over to see if she was okay. She seemed to get up alright. The teacher instructed us to go back inside so class was cut short today. I changed my clothes and closed my gym locker. Some jock walked by and patted me on my back.

"Nice hit there, Vampire."

Vampire?

I shrugged it off and waited for the bell to ring. I went to my locker to get a notebook for my next class. I felt Tiffany's eyes on me as she gave a sneer.

"Look, it's vampire boy over there."

Glancing, I saw her smirk as she passed me.

"Careful, he might drain your blood."

Bitch, I fucking will!

After bitch one left my hallway, the small girl I hit earlier entered. I guess I should apologize right? That's what people usually do. When I decided to walk up to her, she had her hand across her stomach, her head down. In sorrow?

Hell guys, don't laugh at me, I'm still trying to figure this out.

"Hey, sorry about earlier... Wrong place, wrong time I guess." I try and make my voice sound playful, hoping she'll buy into it with the chuckle I add into it.

"Don't worry about it," her head lifts with a smile that would almost put Ashly's to shame,"it's not that big of a deal Hon."

Hon? The fuck is this kid on about?

"I don't suppose you are that sporty then?" Conversation with this girl isn't easy, I'm trying to be friendly, I think. Her eyes squint and her cheek gleam rosy red. "No, not really, just a bit clumsy is all." She chuckles off the inordinate question.

"That would explain all the band aids tucked into your back pocket. A little accident prone?" They are quiet easy to spot, the white sleeved shirt isn't doing her any favors.

As I trace her body, little dots of red become more clear, along with the little tints of blue and purple peeking out of her shirt collar. Her fingertips also seemed to be burned, third degree. How is she still... nevermind that.

"Oh is it that obvious?" She giggles shyly and scratches at her arm. These are not just any marks from falling or stumbling. She's lying, she knows she is. Oh my god, she knows I know. Shit, how do I let her know I know she knows I know?

I winked at her.

Her smile faded slowly, not totally disappearing but definitely leaving. Ha yup I know, now you know I know. Point one for me.

"Meet me behind school, I'm going to be late to English if I keep chatting with you up here." She nods at my demands and scuffles down the hall. Smooth Drew, now what?
