Victoria sat at the head of the table and everyone filled in. Plates were placed in front of all of the people ready for the food to be brought down. People had finally relaxed in front of Victoria and we're now comfortable to talk to each other. Alessandra sat on Victoria's lap as Aurelia was sat on Miss Florence. Johnathan was not sat down for very long and decided to run around the room with a few of the other children from town.Mr Gillingham walked in with the large steaming pot and began to serve it to the people. Their faces lighting up as the warm vegetable soup filled each other their bowls. Looking at each other with sheer joy and gratitude to have a hot meal. Once he had filled Victoria's bowl she nodded allowing them to begin eating but none of them wanted to. They all just stared at the bowls in awe taking in the smell of it.
" Enjoy everyone, you do not have to save it there is more to come." Victoria announced and they all picked up their spoons along with Victoria and began to eat.
Victoria kept Alessandra busy by giving her a spoon to hold and look at herself with while Victoria tried to each in peace. Johnathan was still running around with a few of the children and she knew he needed to eat.
" Johnathan can you come and eat some dinner please or the big bad monster will eat it before you." Victoria asked and he stopped to look at her.
" NO MONSTER! My dinner." Johnathan stated and crossed his arms and began to pout.
" come and eat it then." Victoria pleaded slightly and he stormed over to the table trying to be angry but the little boy didn't have an angry bone in his body.
Sitting down next to Miss Florence she helped him to eat his soup. Which he thankfully didn't get down himself.
" Your majesty. Thank you for everyone this is just wonderful. No other royal would of helped us like this. They would have made us starve to death or be killed."One of the many townspeople said
" Why would I not help my people. I would expect the same if I was in your position. We are here to look after the people. That is the real reason people should want to win the crown wars, to not only help sir family but help the whole country. They shouldn't just want the power and the title." Victoria says and everyone agrees.
" My mummy says your a special one." A little girl no older than ten says to Victoria
" I am not special. I see the crown not as a title but as a way to help people. I used to be like you and kindness got me to where I am. It's how the game will end." Victoria says.
" When I am growed up I wanna be like you." Another little girl said as a few other joined in.
" All of you can. The only thing you need is to be kind and love everyone like your family. Even if they are bad people who want to hurt you and take everything away from you. In the end you will win." Victoria says and all of the people cheers to it.
" Francis would be so proud of you. Your children are lucky to have a woman like you to guide them in this world. Teach them how the game should really be played." Her auntie said nearly making Victoria cry.
" I do this all for the children and for him. I know he hated the rules of this game. Hated how we were thrown into having a child. Even though we love him dearly. He knew we could Change that and the children and I are going to do that for him." Victoria says and her aunt smiled taking her free hand in hers.
" You know Gulliver meant no harm. The man loves you. You two would be a force that would hold this family together. Through the crown wars." Her aunt said and she shook her head.
" I am going to marry to create a strong unit with another family. That way we have double the power." Victoria whispers and her aunt shakes her head.
" Is that really what you want?" Her aunt said and Victoria was stunned.
She had no clue how to answer that question. She knew deep down Francis would hate to see her marry for power , even if it was for the best of the family. She tried to and it only ended in disaster. Gulliver had been their for her every step of the way. He had seen her step into his office and head strong girl desperate to be in the best house, then when she was told house Demure she thought nothing was to come from it. But now she stood with three beautiful children as the Queen of both House Demure and the country. Sure he had been manipulative and sly when Francis was alive but she knew the game had made him that way. It's the easiest way for most to survive. It was rare that Victoria led with kindness. She knows she cares for Gulliver like a brother she could never fall in love with him.
