~Jack~

I locked my sight on the scared faces of my friends as I finished making the death ball that will, without a doubt, kill my friends with its explosion.

"Jack, don't do this!"

"We're your friends!"

"Don't be the monster they think you are!"

I felt completely numb. I can't move my limbs, or feel like I'm actually breathing. The very thought made me panic, yet I still feel calm.

Lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub...

All the shouting, insulting and pleading was blocked by my heartbeat. And, after all the pressure given to me, it still gave a calm sound.

"Anti?"

No answer.

I was a bit dismayed that he didn't answer, but my focus was brought back to the thumps, for it suddenly went rapid, leaving me wondering what had happened. But then I realized,

It's my own heartbeat.

I snap my head up to see the ball hurling towards my friends, the fire sparkling with life that will soon take the lives of the people close to me. But that wasn't my worst action. My worst action is nothing.

I did nothing to stop it.

The light engulfed my vision, making me cover my eyes from how bright it was. But once it died down, I was in another part of the neighborhood. I cringe inwardly when I saw the broken and mangled street.

"Anti?"

Still, no answer.

Something was off, but it's not a surprise for me. I mean, who wouldn't feel the creeping anxiousness when you're walking around a ruined street?

Suddenly, without hesitation, I whirl around to see a misty figure amidst the smog that was emitted by the burning house. Its eyes were glowing red, completely contradicting its black frame. Desperate for answers, I called out to the man.

"Why am I here?!" I cry, "Answer me!"

The figure gave a confused look that was obviously fake as he looked behind him dramatically before meekly pointing a claw to himself.

I huffed in annoyance, "You're the only one here! Of course, I'm talking to you!"

It dropped its façade and gave a low chuckle that echoed throughout the neighborhood and sent chills down my spine. He advanced towards me, contorting into a hideous beast that was my father's Demon.

"You thought I was dead," he sneered, "Once I gain full power, just wait."

"W-We've beat you before, I'm sure we can beat you again, anytime," I replied, trying to sound brave, but the stutter made it obvious that I'm scared for my life!

"You had help from a traitor," he growled, but it quickly turned to a smirk "But never again. I took care of him."

My eyes widen and I immediately lunged at the demon with full rage. My heart ringing in my ears yet I couldn't care less.

I did a roundhouse kick that gave off a wave of flames at the demon, but with the wave of his two arms, they were diminished. He gave a smirk but realized that it was a distraction when I threw pieces of debris at him, sending him under the pile.

"What did you do to my brother?!" I yelled at his face, a ball of fire on my hand as I ready to throw it at him if he didn't comply

He snapped out of his surprised state and shot his arm out of the pile, and straight to my neck. I gave a strangled cry as his claws dug into the skin of my neck. I cancelled the firebdesperately tried to remove his grip but to no avail.

"Just wait."

He threw me effortlessly to the burning building like I was a weightless rag doll, his evil laughter filled my ears as the red and yellow flames engulfed my vision.

Thud!
