Marli

I sat on the counter watching August stuff his face.

"Why ya always starin at me, ya a fuckin creep babe."

"You eat so much yet you're so skinny." I said cocking my head to the side.

This boy eats like a freaking pig but it goes nowhere. Literally, it's like his food just evaporates.

"Ya gon stop pickin on me. All of me ain't skinny rememba dat." He said smirking.

I gave him a confused look before finally understanding his dirty humor.

"You're so gross." I replied giggling.

"Come hea."

I hopped down and made my way over to him. He pulled me down on his lap and put his hand under my shirt.

"Boy what are you doing! Stop that."

"Chill baby I just wanna touch it."

I bit my lip as his hands roamed up my body and under my bra running a finger over my metallic nipples.

"Why are you so interested in them. I'm gonna take them out."

I pulled his hand from under my shirt resting it on my lap.

"Iono I ain't neva been wit a girl dat had em. Imma have fun wit em, you bet not take em out." He warned.

I shook my head smiling as he continued eating.

"Baby what's ya full name?"

"Marli Ava Nicole Rae."

"Damn, ya name sexy as fuck. Ava Nicole... Imma call ya dat when I'm mad or some shit. What are ya, I know ya not fully black."

"I'm not black at all, Vincentian, Jamaican and Costa Rican. How racist, just cause I'm dark skinned you thought I was black. I am appalled." I gasped putting my hand over my heart.

"Take actin classes baby ya good at that shit." He began laughing like the goof he is.

"What ya goin to school fa anyways?" He questioned wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Pediatric Nursing. I'm gonna work at Wolfson Children's Hospital when I'm done with school. I've got an internship this summer, after that ya girl is in." I said cheesing.

I love being at that hospital. Although it's sad sometimes, feel a sense of fulfillment being able to put a smile on a child's face.

"Honestly, I can see ya doin that. Ya look like ya like kids. I couldn't do it, too fuckin sad."

I nodded my head understanding his point of view. He tapped my leg indicating for me to get up. I grabbed his dishes putting them in the dishwasher and wiping off everything before making my way upstairs. When I arrived to my destination seeing August sprawled out on my bed. I noticed he cleaned up all of the glass and returned all of my items to their designated places. Turning off the lights I climbed in next to him and he pulled me on top of him.

"Thank you." I whispered.

"No problem baby. Don't do that shit again ya scared me."

I laughed and pecked his lips.

"Babe, you don't have any clothes."

"I know imma get em in the mornin."

As if he could see me I nodded in agreement.

"How come ya don't talk about ya parents."

"I dunno not much to say about the whole dad thing, never met him. And my mom she's good I guess, we don't talk much."

"Why?"

"I'm not sure. Ever since she kicked me out we haven't really spoken unless it's about my sister."

"I ain't know ya had a sister. If she look anything like ha sister imma have to knock them niggas out." He replied laughing.

"Yeah she's a hothead but she's young, I expect that. She ain't crazy though."

"Baby?"

"Hm." I mumbled falling asleep.

"Why ya moms kicked ya out?"

I've always hated telling this story. I hates reliving the past. That's part of the reason I'm so fucked up now.

"I'm sorry fa askin don't answer dat." He reassured quickly.

"Not right now babe, go to sleep."

He nodded before tightening his grip around me. I nestled in his chest trying to forget about the tragic memories regarding my mom and him.
