Prologue

"Happy new year", Everyone cheered.
The entire club was busy in celebrating the new year. They wished for a year full of happiness. People were busy in dancing, hugging and wishing each other. Almost every soul present in the club enjoyed the night to their fullest except one soul. She is very busy in fighting with the pain, hurt and darkness that's surrounding her world.
Anika's pov
Today is new year. But for me it's going to be another year full of darkness. There is no happiness left in my life. I feel like a mouse who willingly trapped itself in a web of darkness. I thought one day someone will come and save me from this mess but I guess I am wrong. The one who's supposed to save me pushed me more into this darkness. My life is simple yet full of twist and complications. I am a book who's pages are not open for anyone. You may ask why but I just want to share some advice with you " forget what it hurt you but never forget what it taught you". I will never share any of my secrets anymore. Life taught me many lessons. One of the most important lesson is never share your heart to anyone. It will only give you pain. One year passed. I can never forget last new year eve. I can never get over of it. All the memories of those night still flash in my eyes.
Her thoughts got broken when bar tender called her.
" Mam you already had five shots. I can't give you more", he apologized to her.
" Oh man come on at least you please don't seize my happiness from me. Today is new year. Just give me one shot. Let me drown in happiness", she spoke like an alcohol addict.
" Hey Ani what are you doing here", Ashish asked her.
" Ash you are here. Let me hug you", she sounded like a kid.
She hugged him and wished him a happy New year.
" Ani stop drinking it's already very late. Come let me drop you to home", Ashish asked her.
" I am fine ash. I can manage. Where is your date?", Anika enquired him.
" My date is good but you need my help first", Ashish told her.
" Ash stop it yaar. I am not a kid I can manage myself. You please enjoy your date. Bye", saying so she packed her belongings and left the club.
" Ani", Ashish tried to stop her but she didn't listen.
She was out of the club. The entire town was filled with lights and smokes. The bright moon was adding charm to the entire view. Cool breeze soothed her raging heart.
She could sense someone's gaze on her. She started to feel it when she was in the club but ignored it thinking it as a dream.
Anika's pov
I think I drank too much. He can't be here. He is a closed chapter of my life. He will never come again. Calm down Anika. He is not here. Just go back to home.
She stumbled a bit. She was waiting for a cab but suddenly someone pulled her to a nearby Wall and kissed her senselessly.
