The two of them are inside Ji Young's car, on the way to EXO's dorm.
The filming went well and Chanyeol managed to act perfectly, even though he was still annoyed because of Ji Young.
It is night time. The car windows are rolled up because the weather is chilly and the cool night breeze makes them shiver slightly. The night sky is dark and empty, star-less. The busy roads of Seoul are lighted by the bright colorful signs and lights.
Chanyeol is sitting at the passenger seat while Ji Young is driving.
He peeks at the girl. 'Why is she so silent?'
She is focused on the road, looking somewhat sceptical.
Her silence is really making Chanyeol wonder what she's thinking so hard about.
He looks at the road ahead and relaxes in his seat. He doesn't want her to think that he cares about her so he decides to not ask her anything.
Nevertheless, he isn't used to sit in silence for too long "Um, so-" he clears his throat, still looking outside the window "do you have any family? I mean do you live alone?"
Ji Young keeps her eyes on the road, sifting uncomfortably in her seat "Why are you asking such a thing all of sudden?"
Really, why is he asking?
"I want to know more about you. I decided that, if I'm really stuck with you until your duty is over then at least I should know what kind of person you are" Chanyeol simply explains, eyes observing the passing cars busily.
Her brows furrow "What do you mean? Is there a limit to my duty?"
The surprise in her tone makes him smirk "Woahh, I thought you know everything about your job! Ah such a shame"
"Ya! Don't test me. Tell me what you mean right now or I'll kick you out of the car" she threatens him, annoyed by his childish attitude.
He's having the time of his life, seeing her struggle. He lets out a satisfied chuckle, keeping his arms crossed "Well, every assistant that works for me has to offer their duty for at least one year. After that I get to choose wether they stay or not"
Ji Young takes a quick look at him "Really?"
Chanyeol nods, even though she's not looking.
Her tiny fists clench the steering wheel. The girl feels fooled. She wasn't aware of that term when she was offered the job.
At the sight Chanyeol keeps smiling, satisfied. For the first time, he managed to quiet her.
"So now answer my question" he demands.
Ji Young bites her lips, hardly managing to hold her tears back. She's feeling both angry and betrayed. But she doesn't want to cry, this would only add to his amusement.
She clears her throat, clenches her teeth "I live alone, if that's what you want to hear"
"That's not what I asked. What about your family?" He insists, leaning forward to take a better look at her face.
"I don't see where this is going" she whispers. She's desperately trying to avoid his question.
"Ya! I said answer me!" Chanyeol raises his voice, hitting his hand on the front part of the car.
"I don't have a family! Okay!?" She finally snaps.
Chanyeol stares at her, frozen.
She bites her lips, her eyes watering "I don't have a family" she lowers her voice "my father is in prison for abusion and my mother died when I was in college. I am a lonely child"
