You've been Tony's girlfriend for three years. Everything was perfect.

Yeah, he may seem a jerk at TV, but you saw through that mask, you saw what kind of man he is.

Tony was always a broken person... but he started gathering himself when he met you.

You offered him happiness, you offered him a chance to a normal life, to clear his image and changed his perspective over life.

You are his everything. You inspired him to put all of his in everything he did, to hope that there will be a clear ending for everything, that it's light out there for everyone... especially for him.

You were in the kitchen, making Tony some breakfast, when your phone rang.

You poured a glass of orange juice and answered.

''Yeah?'' 

''Y/N, it's James. Where's Tony? I've been waiting for him for over an hour'' Rhodie said from the other line.

''He's still sleeping. He said he had to be there at 4 pm.'' 

''He lied. He had to be here at 9, it's 10.30. Wake him up and send his ass in here'' Rhodey said.

''Okay. I'll call you when he leaves. Bye Rhodie'' you said and hung up.

You walked in the living room and found Tony sleeping on the couch, hugging a pillow.

''Tony, honey wake up. Rhodey is waiting for you'' you said as you shook his shoulder.

''He can wait'' he murmured and turned on the other side.

''Tony... come on. Everybody is waiting for you'' 

He sighed and got off the couch.

''Fiineee... Just because you're cute'' he smiled and kissed your forehead.

''Go ahead and clean yourself. I'll go and make you some coffee'' you said as he stretched.

''Thanks sweetie'' he said and hugged your waist, burying his face in your neck.

''Oh god, just go'' you laughed and pushed him to the bathroom.

''Alright, alright'' he sighed and left.

After some time, Tony came back in the living room, dressed nicely.

''Alright, I'm ready'' he said, walking to you.

''My, my... Don't we look sharp today, Mr Stark. I wonder who chose that nice suit for you'' you smirked at him.

''My wonderful girlfriend did. You should meet her'' he smiled at you.

''Do you have everything you need?'' you asked, arranging his tie.

''Gave them to Happy yesterday'' 

''Alright. Call me when you get in Afghanistan, okay? I want you back in one piece and alive'' you said, wrapping your hands around his neck.

''Will try. I was thinking we can squeeze some 'us' time in this week. I want to talk something serious with you'' he said, hugging you back.

''And what's that?'' you asked, smiling.

''Now's not the time. Don't keep me here woman, I'll be late'' he laughed.

''Asshole'' you laughed and slapped his chest.

He leaned forward and gave you a long kiss, like he always did when he had to leave for more days.

You kissed him back, then pulled away, making him pout.

''Please be careful'' you said, leaning your head on his shoulder.

''I will'' 

You walked with him outside, where Happy was waiting for him.

You kissed him again.

''I love you'' you said

''I love you too, Y/N''

Happy honked, making Tony glare at him.

''Come on!'' Happy yelled.

''Alright, coming!'' Tony yelled back.

He turned to you, a weird sadness in his eyes.

''I promise I'll be back as fast as I finish there. Then we'll talk about that important thing, okay? If anything happens, remember that I love you'' he said, then he kissed you again.

''What are you talking about?'' you asked confused.

''I-'' he was interrupted by Happy who honked again.

''Bye honey.'' Tony said and hugged you, heading to the car.

''Bye Tony!'' you said, and watched him waving at you, then the car drove away.

He'll be fine... He'll be fine ..., you thought as you walked back inside.

You hoped he'll be fine... even if something told you that he won't be.
