Hank drove to your apartment, and you welcomed him inside.

He closed the door behind him, and you motioned for him to sit down on the couch.

''I'll be back in a minute, I need to change my clothes. Make yourself comfortable'' you said and strolled to your bedroom, to change your clothes.

You took on a pair of pajama pants, and a t-shirt, along with some flip flops, and headed back to the living room.

''I hope I didn't make you wait too long'' you said as you sat back down.

''Not at all. Hey, let me look at your hand'' he said and you showed him your purple wrist.

''Damn, it looks bad. Let's get it bandaged. Where's your bathroom?''

''Third door to the left'' you said and pointed to a door down the hall.

''I'll be back'' he said and walked to the bathroom.

He came back with some ointment and some bandages.

You reached out and took the items, ready to take care of it.

''Let me take care of that'' he said silently, his voice softer.

You silently agreed, and showed him your hand.

He took the ointment, and applied it on your bruises.

His hands were big, but his touch was so soft that you didn't even felt anything.

''Does it hurts?'' he asked, looking at you

''Nope'' you smiled

He smiled back, then bandaged your wrist.

''Thank you Hank''

''No problem. So, Y/N, tell me, how long has this been going on?'' Hank asked, looking at you.

''Ummm... 14 months. We divorced last year in March, and ever since he's been following me''

''What was the reason of the divorce?''

''Well... he started drinking a lot, and he was beating me. First, it was just a slap, then it became worse. Last time he beaten me, he broke three ribs, and I ended up in hospital for three weeks... he... he called me everyday, and followed me at work. I quit 4 jobs because of him. He called me last week, and threatened he would kill me if I don't get back with him. I have the conversation recorded'' you sniffed, the memories almost making you cry.

''Can I listen to it?'' he asked, speaking softly

''Yeah'' you said and took your phone from the table.

He searched in his pockets and pulled out a pair of headphones to listen, like he knew that the conversation would bring back bad memories.

After he listened, he handed you the phone.

''Well, we have enough evidence against him. Did your colleague saw him when he followed you?''

''Yes, she saw everything. And when she tried to stand up for me, he threatened her too''

''We have evidence, and we have a witness. You said you filed complaints, right?''

''Five'' you nodded

''We have enough to file a trial. I'll need your and Olivia's phone number. I'll call you tomorrow morning, so we could meet somewhere and talk everything through. You need rest now. Do you have relatives in town?'' he asked, standing up

''Yes, my parents. Why?''

''It would be safer for you to stay with your relatives tonight'' he said.

''Why?'

''He may be coming after you, so it would be safer to be with someone to help you. Pack some things, and I'll drive you''

''No, you already did too much. I can't ask you to do that'' you refused

''No, my pleasure. Really, I insist''

''Are you sure? Maybe your wife is waiting for you at home, I can't-''you began, only for him to cut you off.

''I am not married''

''Oh... sorry for that'' you blushed

''No problem. Now, go on, pack some things. I'll wait you outside'' he smiled kindly and walked outside.

What a nice man... and he's not married, you thought smiling.

You ran inside your room, and quickly packed a bag with some clothes and some products, and not bothering to change your pajamas, you walked outside and locked the door to your apartment.

Hank was waiting in front of the block, and you saw that outside was still raining.

''I'm ready'' you said

''Wait a second'' he said and pointed towards the other side of the street

''Do you see that man with the black hoodie?'' he continued

''Yeah''

''It's Derek. He's stalking you'' he said, and you felt yourself freeze in your spot.

''Act casual, like you didn't observe him'' he whispered, taking off his jacket and holding it up, so you wouldn't get wet while walking towards his car.

That was a sweet thing he did for you.

You and Hank walked towards the car and entered, driving off with speed.

Hank took a few sharp turns, to be sure that Derek wasn't following the two of you, then slowed down, driving with the legal limit.

''I think we're okay now'' you said, looking in the side mirror.

''Yeah. Look, I'll call you tomorrow to tell you where we'll meet, and we'll talk everything out'' Hank sighed

''Everything okay?'' you asked, placing a hand on his shoulder

''Yeah, just... that asshole stressed me a little'' he answered.

''Sorry for involving you in this'' you whispered

''It's no problem. I got myself involved into this because you need help'' he replied

You nodded, then rested in your seat.

After a silent ride, he drove you to your parents.

He walked you to the door, and handed you your bag.

''Alright Y/N, see you tomorrow. Take a few days off, you need them'' he said looking at you

''Thank you Hank. You are way too kind''

''It's nothing''

''Good night, see you tomorrow''

''Good night Y/N'' he smiled and headed to his car, driving off.

You took a deep breath and knocked at the door.
