Brit came to the attention of Chiang Mai University while still in high school. His retention of every word he read and heard made him an impressive student in Chiang Mai. His behavior was calm and humble in all that he achieved. There did not seem to be a limit to what he understood or accomplished.
No one realized when I felt Brits pain. My heart grew closer in my affection as he integrated into a family life denied to him previously. Fear and hunger diminished, and a spark of confidence appeared that permitted his mind to flourish. His gifts were present all along. It remained hidden until they were unleashed through love.
An abused and troubled kid turned into an outstanding young man. How could anyone know he was a diamond needing to be polished, It produced a beam in me because he radiated in all that he performed.
Dog knew there was something unique and special about Brit, He sensed it when he came into his presence. There was a harmony and connection with Dog that is unexplainable.
Dog followed him to school every day. Even when Dad or Mom drove him to school. The beloved mutt was waiting for Britt at the edge of the campus.
They would tumble and wrestle in the yard every day through sunshine and rain. Mom pretended to be angry at them when they came in muddy. They showered together and joyfully washed away the dirt.
The pair were from the outside, but it seemed they were always part of our family. The comic books depicted them as Boy Wonder And his pal.
Brit and Dog did practice the techniques of FF together. It was debatable who won.
As Brit competed in the Junior Division of FF, Dog became invited to do an exhibit match. It became a great attraction and neither one lost a match.
Library personnel and professors at the university let Dog lay next to Brit's chair during class and at study time. They ignored the signs that read, "No pets allowed,"
Brit did odd jobs in the community. He was paid small amounts. He refused to take anything from single mothers or older retirees in the community. They accepted the boy and dog as part of their families. If he was working for them at meal time, they would invite the pair to the meal. Then when the duo came home they would eat again. Daddy said, "He is a growing boy doing do physical labor. He needs his strength."
Our older brother, Jimmy, developed a fine mind. His ability in FF equaled that of Brit. His name appeared on the perfect grade list in high school and college.
Jimmy qualified for many scholarships throughout the world. However, he demonstrated a quieter lifestyle than Brit. They respected each other and defended their difference.
They worked several odd jobs together, but Brit usually took the lead. There was no jealousy between them, and they always shared the gratuity.
Jimmy earned a PHD in Business and is Dean of the School of Business at The University of California in Los Angelis.
I am proud of both brothers. Jimmy married his high school sweetheart, Dawk Kuu Lab (ดอกกุหลาบ – Rose Blossom.)
